TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! TKC TIPSTERS RAGE OVER NEW KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT TAKE HOME CARS!!!

In this age of austerity it seems that Kansas City local government is THANKFULLY coming under increasing scrutiny over spending.
To wit . . .
TKC TIPSTERS INVITE US TO THINK ABOUT THE WAY THE KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT USES THEIR FLEET OF CARS!!!
This week The KCPD Chief Of Police offered a detailed explanation of his take home car policy along with links to audits and department policy.
Disagree or not . . . It would be nice to see this same level of transparency from The Kansas City Fire Department.
Now, KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS bring us their perspective . . .
"Why don't we look into all the FD Brand New take home vehicles as well . . ."
"This photo was taken at EMS headquarters on Eastwood. It's like they don't care about the budget as long as the chiefs get what they want. At this time there were also about 7 new battalion chiefs vehicles that where put into service."
"The first photo features take home cars for the deputy chiefs and all the cronies. This next one is a look at replacement vehicles for the battalion chiefs in the stations. The second was also at Eastwood . . .."
The difference between old school Ford Explorers and new ones is kind of stark . . . But I digress.
So . . .
ALL OF THIS REMINDS US OF THE NEED FOR MORE TRANSPARENCY FROM THE KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT!!!
Kansas City's Police Department is on Twitter, Pinterest, Blogs and conducting regular community forums offering DETAILED explanations of how they operate and new efforts they're undertaking . . . MEANWHILE, there's almost no communication or interaction between Kansas City's Fire Department and the public.
In fact, there's a MISGUIDED perception that the KCFD doesn't answer to anybody. Nothing could be further from reality.
Firefighters answer to taxpayers and voters just like every other public servant.
HOWEVER, CITY HALL HAS ALLOWED THIS GROUP OF CITY EMPLOYEES TO REMAIN FAR BEHIND THE CURVE IN COMMUNICATING WITH THE PUBLIC ONLINE AND IN KANSAS CITY NEIGHBORHOODS!!!
This lack of public communication and discourse might have worked in the old days but that time is over.
THE MOST AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS have valiantly shed light on behind the scenes details of the KCFD . . . But now I'm thinking that the reason why this happens is because so few official communication channels exist between Kansas City voters and taxpayers with the KCFD.
Given continued ambulance response time FAIL along with budget debates that will continue for the foreseeable future . . . This should be an opportunity for the KCFD to increase their ACCOUNTABILITY to the public rather than hide behind mean-spirited anonymous comments directed toward TKC.
Sniffle. I don't scare easy but I cry all the time and mostly when I re-watch the Bette Midler classic Beaches while drinking hot tea. Again, I digress . . .
The more important point and TKC just trying to help . . .
There is new leadership withing the KCFD and NOW is their opportunity to change their closed door policy.
DEVELOPING . . .
Don't hold your breath.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a few people's RAGE to make well-informed thoughtful decisions about public policy.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of things to be disgusted about in KCMO government, but this probably isn't one of them.
By " AWESOME TKC TIPSTER " , do you really mean a lazy, no cot lifting , disgruntled ambulance employee..... thought so
ReplyDeleteBy " AWESOME TKC TIPSTER " , do you really mean a Dally Hyvee shopper, Xbox playing, BBQ grilling Fire fighter whining about their pay raise for surfing the internet or watching the Play boy channel?
ReplyDeleteLet's give those FD guys a nice reward. A vibrating dildo for their ass.
We have a PS3 at our station, we shop at Price Chopper ( with our own money ), and yes we did get our raises( after a 3 year freeze in pay ) , which YOUR Council approved. And BBQ , and grilling are totally different. And the dildos part, not a fan of. However, I do enjoy banging your wife with one while your sitting in your 3x3 cubicle all day thinking of ways to hate people that mean more to this city than your pathetic ass ever will. And yes, this response is sarcastic because of all the dipshits on here that think they lnow what we do, because a " kick ass " tipster said so. Get a fucking clue you worthless fuck, and come hang with us at the station for a day. You'll change your tune fuckstain
DeleteThey have to pull they're Dick out of yours first
ReplyDelete5/26/12 7:05 AM
ReplyDeleteGo home and call your wife but she can't say much because she has my dick in her mouth. LOL
KCFD needs to make up it's mind do they suck City hall political dick or do they now take it up the ass.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of a union you either suck dick or take it up the ass.
Right now KCFD is taking it up the ass.
Those aren't even take home cars, they're Battalion chief explorers. Tony, just because because somebody sends you a picture of some new trucks does not mean they are not needed or not warranted or budgeted for last year. I don't see the outrage here
ReplyDeleteif the rules for the fire department, are like the rules that applied in the suburbs, when I worked there, the Fire Department cannot respond to your critic analysis. We had designated spokesmen, who chose to respond or not to questions. Not everyone could awnser. And they usually didnot have the authority to respond to any question, but that had to be deligated by the city. And they thought "everyone" knew the awnser. And usually didn't respond to the question.
ReplyDeleteSo here is how to get around that, go to the council member in charge of overseeing that department.
Start questioning on something totally different, like audit?
then switch the topic, to what you want.
they don't want to hear audit. So they may awnser your question?
what the hell do the chiefs need to take a care home. dont they work 24 on and 48 off even so they dont deserve to have a take home care for what dam reason
ReplyDeleteThe pictures shown are not of take home cars, they are of replacement chief buggys
Deletewhat the hell do the chiefs need to take a care home. dont they work 24 on and 48 off even so they dont deserve to have a take home care for what dam reason
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to investigate all the departments' purchases. The vehicle purchasing program is a huge boondoggle. The city has too many cars period, take home or not. The city manager, auditor, and council are derelict in their duties to provide oversight. This lot is no different than the lot with all the new but still sitting vehicles down on Front Street. For 2 cars, the city could keep one firefighter.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if Tony is right or wrong on this issue, but I gotta admit, I enjoy his Terrier like nipping at any and everyone's heels in the halls of power.
ReplyDelete:)
"Will no one rid me of this meddlesome blogger?"
Pintrist? Seriously? What are we..all suburban soccer moms and that's how we need our news delivered to us. You are outraged because the fire dept doesn't tweet or have a Pintrist account? I prefer them fighting fires but that's just me. Hey, when is the engagement announcement coming out between you and Darla J?
ReplyDeleteAnd have you two decided yet who's going to be the groom and who the bride?
ReplyDeleteThis city government is out of control. Need new leadership.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to New Zimbabwe.
ReplyDeleteSlow news day huh Tony. Oh well, better than reading anout another ten niggers shot overnight. Actually, no it's not
ReplyDeleteHey easy on Tony he had a bad night he told Darla he wanted some head and she hit him upside his own.
ReplyDeleteDarla and Tony's mom are tight Tony is doomed.
the firemen could always do the grocery shopping on off duty days instead of driving the gas guzzling fire trucks to hy vee or price shoppers. besides they are being paid to do there grocery shopping. how many jobs do you know of that allows employees to do grocery shopping on company time
ReplyDeleteDipshit they get food for the day with their own money, and they take the truck so they can respond to calls quickly. Just because they're getting food does not mean they are out of service
DeleteOk, we allow firefighters to shop for groceries on duty because they are together with their apparatus in case a call comes out in their district. We used to send one guy in his personal car, however, if a call occurred, the truck would be responding with one less firefighter and may not be able to accomplish their responsibilities, also, with them on duty in their personal car, the liability to the City is significant if they are involved in a crash. We need to replace supervisor vehicles occasionally to make sure they are able to safely respond to emergencies. Again, there is liability in sending someone to respond in a vehicle that is a maintenance nightmare. Vehicles are replaced on a schedule based on mileage typically as well as number of years in-service. This is a common practice throughout public service. I agree that the department could do a much better job communicating with it's constituents and now with the changes taking place it should be a priority.
ReplyDeleteGee, I guess if we had light rail, they could take the toy train? It is not a question of if Kansas City becomes another Detroit but when and two losing sports teams, a toy train and another big arena is not going to save Kansas City. BTW, has the brainiacs at city hall figured out how much extra police they will need on the light rail to protect the riders from the local thugs? Have they factored that cost in?
ReplyDeleteJust so Tony knows and can change the title.
ReplyDeleteTHOSE AREN'T TAKE HOME CARS!!! Furthermore, those weren't bought and neither was the previous 7. Those are leased.
So, can you fix your title?
The Chiefs ABSOLUTELY take these cars home. I don't often agree with Tony but on this issue he is right, the fire department answers to no one.
ReplyDeleteRetard, get this through your head: these are not take home cars. They are battalion cheif buggys that are leased
DeleteIn my Dept. our fleet has work trucks that are 15yrs old and crappy, but our staff are still expected to rush out to emergencies at all hours of the day and night. No one gets to take a city vehicle home, not even our director. You have to look at the reasons why Fire needs to use the fleet and frankly it makes sense. And complain to Council and the union about the raises, they voted them in. I am one of the other 1000 exempt employees with the City who has not received a raise in 4 yrs including a cost of living. I will cheer if my dept. is privatized...goodbye union crap.
ReplyDeleteCheer your way to unemployment. You earned it. You think you're safe? Your job is going to be filled by some clue less college kid happy to make 25900 a year.
DeleteWatch TKC try to raise a valid point for discussion and here come all the "turf" protectors!
ReplyDeleteBottomline: The City of Kansas City MO is the region's big whore/pimp/gangster rolled into one. It only exists because of it's power to tax the largest group of residents and businesses.
It's similar to insurance fraud, most people want the best services and replacement values as long as somebody else is footing the bill. Try to raise their rates and they scream bloody murder.
Most city departments have little incentive to do their best work. Mediocre is acceptable because they're public employees and everyone in the system is a part of the game. As a KC taxpayer, your dollars disappear into a giant city budget and employees mostly work in anonymity, which works to their benefit. Private companies will usually always be more efficient and accountable.
Fire Chief, Principle Assistant to the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chiefs, Division Chiefs, and Assistant Division Chiefs all have take home cars. They drive to the gym, to the dry cleaners, pick up their spouses, etc all in City vehicles and on city time. Most of these people NEVER turn on a siren and have no need for a take home vehicle. It's seen as a perk. These people should have to pay income taxes on getting a free vehicle to use as part of their pay package.
ReplyDelete7:52 is100% correct. This is how KCFD wastes money. Don't want to cut FF? Get rid of take home cars. How much would we save on taxes, insurance and maintenance, not to mention the initial cost.
ReplyDeleteYou all suck cock!!!
ReplyDelete9:29, which KCFD fire station do you call home?
ReplyDelete7:29 its true we do take it up the ass and have for a while (but we KCFD FF's like it) Please give us a break bcuz our pimp Louie retired so bere with us as we now have to get re adjusted after that mind fuck, our Hitler left us, and now the taxpayers of KC are seeing us for the retards we really are, and we are seeing ourselves for the heroes we really are not, anyone know a good shrink, has to be one that will work with my schedule because even though I am a KCFD FF i have 8 jobs so I can pay child support on my 9 kids from 7 different girls (please dont tell my wife) .
ReplyDeleteI think 11:46 meant the post of 9:29 there was no 7:29 but I get what you are saying and can match it to all the FF defensive fucks on here lol
ReplyDelete10:26 you are the poster child of your industry that is why the public hates you, and your moronic industry - well except in cities where fire and ems are actually a team and actually saves lives, instead of fight over bananas like the monkeys that you are! if my home burns down...let it burn...flo will cut me a check thats why I pay that bitch a monthly insurance premium. Fire protection is now a days a after thought, better building codes and building products have stripped you from your glory...and in your brilliance you went after EMS to try and reclaim it, and justify your existance well here is a newsflash you suck in EMS in KC people are dying to not call you for help because their choice is death...or wait for fire and get some more death.
ReplyDelete1:29 here is a idea...they know they have a shift to work, and what days they will work them, so why not get the food to cook at the station BEFORE their shift? www. FFaremorons/stupid.us.KCMO/notrocketscience
ReplyDelete5/26/12 10:26 AM
ReplyDeleteHi Dick Face. I don't have to go to a station to see jack shit. I was in the National guard when we were called up to go to KCMO to put out fires that you selfish ass holes were setting because of your greedy shitty hearts weren't getting the pay raise money you wanted. Fuck you and Fuck your union.
Ok tard, do the math dumbass the last strike was in 1980. Themajority of the job over 90%runs was either in high school or not even born.
DeleteIt is more likely that 95-98% of the current fire department staff were never out pn strike! But thank you to those who did to make it a better place to work today!
DeleteIf they are not take home cars, why did I see a wife driving one just the other day?
ReplyDeleteAmen, 12:53!!
ReplyDeleteRocket scientist fireman.
ReplyDeleteTime for another keg run!
also a friend of mine was in the guards when they were forced to fight fires that the fireman set. also he said that they stuff rags in the pumpers and filled extinguishers with gas. and have you seen the shape of some of the chiefs and then you say they drive to the gym come on
ReplyDeleteWhat about unjustified take home cars in other departments? Parks is a big abuser.
ReplyDeleteI see why KCPD cops take their cars home. have you ever been to Summit Woods out by Lee's Summit. Its almost all cops in that neighborhood. They live there for Lee's Summit Schools, to have a KC address. That neighborhood never gets robbed. However; the firefighters taking cars home is a joke
ReplyDeleteSeems to be a lot of jealousy among posters here who aren't willing to give up 24 hour chunks of time to answer ANY 911 call at ANY time of day or night at the drop of a hat.
ReplyDeleteWell dunb-butts it's not about when people were born it's about the greedy philosophy of the KCFD.
ReplyDeleteI love my job as a kcfd firefighter, im sorry the rest of you dont have a career so rewarding. Have fun in your cubicles, we will be there when you have a seizure or your blood sugar gets low,by the way great job kcpd we stand behind you.
ReplyDeletePost above to the KCFD FF: YOU aren't the person needed for medical calls. Send MAST but they'll be delayed because Smokey Dyer doesn't care a bit about ambulance response times. KCFD is disgusting.
ReplyDeleteThats funny pumper seem to get there on average 2 to 5 min before an ambulance. They dont wait to perform medical treatment, mast doesnt exist anymore retard. Complain to city hall not firefighters.
ReplyDeleteCops with take home cars need to park their shit in front of their OWN FUCKING HOUSE. Yes, even the gang of eight.
ReplyDelete11:12 Mast might not exist as a legal entity, but the passion for taking care of people is Mast driven,by the very professional that worked at Mast and had response times which you cant even compete with under fire!! you hose monkeys never cared about medical calls, and you still dont...oh wait now you do because if you didnt have EMS your brotherhood would be downsized in a unimaginable way and as a hood you just cant have that, so your response time and clinical data tell the truth, and if I remember right who gives a shit if fire gets there in 2-5 minuets...a tow truck will be there in 1 you moron, and probably has more EMS skills than you hard hat hose dragging wife cheating leach on tax payers money, entitlement driven fuck sticks ever will.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I could give a shit less if you claim you have to take a fire truck to the grocery store YOU DONT...get your fuckin food on your OWN time - you know when you work so plan for it you morons!!!
Why are you so angry? Either your former mast or couldnt get a job with the fd. I didnt know tow truck drivers were required to be emts? Your post reek of jealousy, or maybe your just mad your wife fucked a fire fighter. You should put all that anger in to something constructive and positive. Dont
ReplyDeleteBlame the firefighters because you hate your job.
Yet to see a tow truck driver with EMS bag. Really stupid comment. Fail try again
ReplyDeleteKCFD is a FAIL always has been always will be!!!
ReplyDelete3:59 I love my job, but what I hate is how the Fire department thinks they are entitled to so much, and from what I have seen on TV and read in the papers since Fire took over Mast the response times are deplorable and we were lead to believe by you folks that putting the 2 systems together would benefit the taxpayers....doesn't look much like that's worked out to well.
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as a fire truck being the first on a scene are you saying that all KCFD FF are advance life support trained and show up to the call with all the required equipment and medications to make that a viable number of significance to save a life. I have a friend who is a DR in KC who told me that FF are basic level EMT's and that EMTs under the current medical direction can do little in many ALS calls on their own because most of what is required is out of their scope of practice. Who knows KCFD might have paramedics on their trucks now but havent heard anything about that.
Again your barking up the wrong tree the rank and file fire fighters don make any decisions. You cant believe anything you read in the star
ReplyDeleteThey may think they answer to nobody but the tax payers that vote can make the changes we need to fix the problems we have. We made the mess now lets fix the problems we made.
ReplyDelete
