WE'RE HEARING REPORTS BACK FROM THE PUBLIC MEETINGS AND THEY'RE MOSTLY FULL OF PAID SHILLS COMPLIMENTING THEMSELVES ON A SCHEME THAT'S GOING TO COST KANSAS CITY BIG TIME!!!
It's kind of a Catch-22 . . . Mayor and City Council have done their best to keep the vast majority of voters out of this decision . . . In turn, Kansas City voters have basically disengaged from the process.
The long term ramifications: Mayor Sly and City Council keep running up the local tax burden and EVEN MORE PEOPLE decide that Kansas City's "amenities" are best enjoyed from the suburbs where taxes for all of the shiny new toys aren't applied directly.

What makes them so sure that they will even get the Tiger grant money from the Feds? I assume that this project is dead without the federal funds.
