Every day Kansas City becomes even more irrelevant on the national sports scene.
Here's a reminder of this fact from a player that's currently WINNING vs. the long gone Kansas City glory days of this small town's most beloved big fish . . .
New York Times blog: With a Single in the First, Jeter Passes Brett
SB Nation: "Derek Jeter Passes George Brett For 14th Place On All-Time Career Hits List"
New York Daily News: "Yankees' Derek Jeter passes George Brett, Kansas City Royals Hall of Famer, on Major League Baseball's career hit list"
George Brett = ASSHOLE!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell George was good no doubt and so was most the rest of the team in 85 when they won the World Series.
ReplyDeleteWorld Series wow what an idiot name for those 7 games. How about the American Series since only an American Team gets to play in it.
The Babe was hot once as well but in the overall events of baseball today it really means nothing other than he is listed in the history books. George is to this point in his career
Face it after your 30 seconds of fame is up that's it your old news and people start liking the new guy.
If only Glazer would understand this and fade away as well. He as well is irrelevant on any scene and those whose coat tails he has jumped on to ride to what he calls glory are fading even faster than Sly James political career is.
He once ruined a great pair of Bally's loafers with some crab leg diahrreah
ReplyDeleteAnd is a switch hitter.
ReplyDeleteWe like George. At least he WAS a winner.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the '85 Royals could beat the '39 Monarchs.
ReplyDeleteThey call it the World Series, because Canada won it back to back with a Canadian team. Where was the star from. I'll give you one guess. And also, all the Japs and Mexicans, and Venezuelans, and Puerto Ricans, and Cubans play in the shit. Have you ever noticed their names?
