THE KANSAS CITY WEEKEND SHOOTOUT!!!

Let's start Monday with a note that some parts of Kansas City are every bit as violent as a foreign battle zone. Even worse, violence and gunfire spread throughout the metro area despite the best attempts by local politicos to ignore the problem.

Take a look:

KCTV5: 4 shootings in 1 night make for violent holiday weekend

KMBC: Lee's Summit police swarmed a busy park on Sunday morning after a man was shot in the face.

Man, 65, shoots motorcyclist in road rage incident

Kansas City police are investigating after a man was found shot in a Jeep early Sunday morning.

So, while I gawk at Wendy Fiore it seems that Kansas City residents didn't forget their bullets on this Memorial Day Weekend.

A few more links, breaking news, local content and all kinds of good stuff in a few . . .

STAY TUNED!!!

  1. Not sure this is even newsworthy anymore. Sounds like every other weekend in Kansas City.

  2. KCPD "new" Hot Spot program is working wonders. But don't worry the "new" gun triangulation program will catch them. However the Police will say they can't catch them because no one is calling the TIPS hotline. What a joke. Tax payer boon-dongle.

  3. What happened to the "No Violence" Alliance?

  4. "No Violence" Alliance" is another BS KCPD program. Just for PR.

  5. Program after program is rolled out to great fanfare, but there's no one to actually ramrod them, bang agencies' head together to get some collaboration and cooperation, establish some realistic performance satndards, timelines, and expectations, manage to those results, and actually HOLD SOME PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE.
Then we all move on to something new and wonderful and the process starts all over again.
Meanwhile the homicides in KCMO continue to INCREASE.
Everyone, including the thugs, have seen this movie many many times before. Just wait out the latest "initiative and it will disappear soon enough.

  6. Two of the listed shootings weren't even IN Kansas City; one was across the state in St. Louis. At least on was self-defense and permitted under Castle Doctrine.

Shootings aren't necessarily a bad thing when the right people get shot. For some people 'getting shot' is the predictable result of poor life choices, sorta like when queers get Aids.

  7. Maybe PD should get some more take home cars for the top brass. That seems to be working, too.

  8. Good ole' Benton Blvd, the MLK of KC. Actually, the blacks need to pick up the pace today. I thought they would have a lot more people shot this holiday weekend. But there is still time!

  9. 6:44- That's EXACTLY right.

The sad part is, the first two lines of your comments could be applied to just about every program the city undertakes.

Public safety, education, redevelopment, fiscal responsibility.....doesn't matter, every time it's just as you describe.

  10. Ha stupid fucking motorcyclist ran his mouth and got dominated by a senior citizen.

  11. Public Safety is a joke in Kansas City. They don't call it Killa City for nothing. The Cops really have no impact on crime, the criminals are the ones calling the shots.
