TKC TIPSTERS KILLED THE KANSAS CITY DAYTIME TEEN CURFEW!!! YOU'RE WELCOME

A compromise has been reached . . . Looks like Council Dude "Wimpy" Scott Wagner didn't want to fine old ladies and single moms . . . Even better, Kansas City Public Schools decided to take a greater role in preventing truancy instead of trying to turn cops into babysitters or the City Council into part of its legislative branch.

Attendance records, not curfew, seen as anti-truancy tactic

More than anybody else . . . Kansas City's home schooling community stood out as an influential force that didn't mind putting themselves out there in the public eye and open to criticism.

Behind the scenes . . . The racial strife in this decision threatened to tear the City Council apart.

Also, The Mayor was smart enough to realize there was no winning play in this legislation.

So . . . A low key option is now being touted . . . Don't worry, that won't work either . . . But at the very least, Kansas City's most vulnerable residents won't face sanction thanks to one of the many bits of PR legislation that seem to rule the City Council.

  1. So now the kids that don't want to be in school need to go to school and be disruptive enough to get kicked out of school so that they legally don't have to be there. Great.

  2. I am glad the home schoolers spoke up, and you should know that there are a number of minority home schoolers in the area. Not all of us look like the Duggars.

  3. Hopefully Scott is beginning to learn that making new laws when existing laws are not enforced accomplishes little and just tends to piss off the few that are paying attention.

  4. Scott Wagner brought this issue to the forefront. If not for him, truancy wouldn't have been on anyone's radar. Good job, Wagner.
