Kansas City Suburbs Stay Losing

For some reason . . . There's a slew of links out there today regarding the decline of nearby suburbs and the poor excuses for cities that surround KC Proper.

Take a look:

Suburban crime can sometimes get medieval . . . Overland Park, Kan., Police: Caller Says Spear Pulled During Neighbors' Fight

Burglary, vandalism closes Independence elementary school

Olathe mall evacuated after suspicious package found

And to illustrate this post I found one of the most underrated photos of Jordan Carver looking somewhat domestic . . . Sadly, suburban babes aren't as hot as Ms. Carver and life so far away from civilization OBVIOUSLY inspires more than a bit of angst.

  1. Yes, the suburbs are becoming really dangerous. That's why so many people are moving to KCMO south of the river!

  2. Good point - Brookside is a real ghost town.

  3. Nobody wants to bomb the Great Mall, heck nobody wants to shop there either.

  4. Even so, that's where KCMO's retail workers went. Now if we can just keep the core cities' riff raff from moving...so they don't screw up the suburbs too!

  5. Except for a few enclaves like Brookside, the population of KCMO south of the river has been declining for years.
Maybe more folks will move downtown so they can help pay for the streetcar.

  6. HA HA if they move downtown we will be seeing train robberies again.

  7. What a funny story, suburbs declining. You wish. It's getting so bad in Johnson County that the average life span is increasing (see today's Star). What a dopey story, Tony.

  8. I hope everyone in Overland Park kills each other.
