Jessica Logsdon is a local artist who isn't afraid to share her political opinion.
One of her creations caused quite a stir in the last days of the Occupy KC encampment.
Ms. Logsdon and her homies defended the work on artistic grounds and claimed that their Occupy KC Journal was being misrepresented.
In her first drawing . . . Ms. Logsdon answers our call to create a bit of satire regarding Mayor Sly and his downtown toy train.
And then there's this . . .
WTF?!?!?!
I have no idea what this means but it's provocative and part of Kansas City's artsy political protest.
I sure hope that kid graduates from 5th grade... she'll have to do it on her math scores because her art grades must be pitiful.
ReplyDeleteNot artsy, not political, just weak. Really really weak and sad. Poor kid has finally lost it.
ReplyDeleteYou put a call out for satire? Did any local artists respond?
ReplyDeleteJessica?,
ReplyDeleteAttend art school and pay close attention when they talk about perspective.
Then stop by a creative writing class and take a class in the elements of humor.
First, who are those people? And what's that guy on the right holding? A bouquet of fish? And what's the matter with his arm? Is it withered?
Wait! I get it! It's Bob Dole! Holding a bouquet of fish! And he's with a guy who....is...blowing smoke rings?
I dunno.
Jessica?,

Yes, her art created quite a stir in the last days of Occupy KC,
ReplyDeleteBoth people laughed!
whats up with Randy Jacksons mongoloid brother swinging the fish shaped guitar?
ReplyDeleteI rather like her stuff she draws and the points she makes. But then what do I know about cartoons and art.
ReplyDeleteI grew up on MAD MAGAZINE
Shit Dave, so did I. MAD was light years ahead of what passes for art--or for that matter comedy--or political commentary--or NEWS, today.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHA my mom and I fought every month (back in 60's) when new issue came out she thought it was crap. Hell in jr high had teachers who loved reading it.
ReplyDeleteYes MAD was some funny shit and nothing holds a torch to it today.
nice reference SD!
ReplyDeleteLee Judge is laughing at Tony right now. Tony once again has gone and found another "cartoonist" thats worse than him to support.
ReplyDeleteTony, do you purposely go out and look for the worst talent this town has to offer just to make Kansas City look like a joke?
That's the rub - Tony does call this a joke blog - so the people he claims to be supporting, Alonzo, Clinton, Tracy and even Brandon might think twice about bragging about Tony's support - the joke's on them.
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder what this girl did for Tony to keep pretending she's an artist.
ReplyDelete"Yeah that's right baby you an artist, you da best artist I ever seen, draw me a cartoon artist." (hand on back of head pushing downward)
exploiting the mentally ill for a blog post... not cool
ReplyDeleteI hope she fucks better than she draws.....
ReplyDeleteJessica Logsdon is the greatest artist in America today, Kansas City is lucky to have her. Have you see her ' Nope ' piece about Barack Obama, mother fucking genius.
ReplyDeleteMs. Jessica Logsdon has created a following of haters, most of which are wanna be 'artists' with no talent and no balls. As you will notice the comments are a reflection of the trolls that follow her because of her success and their jealousy of being nobody losers. Keep up the good work Jessica I am your biggest fan!!!
ReplyDeleteLike Father Like Son.
ReplyDeleteThe apple never falls far from the treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I saw that Barack Obama piece, she did!!! She turned the H into an N so it said Nope, not Hope. I was like, whoah!!! You get it? Nope, not Hope!!! I can't believe she thought of that!!! The first of its kind!!!! She thought of it all by herself, not that it was the most obvious thing to do with the word Hope. Motherfucking retarded.

Haters gonna hate. LOL. Let's see some other artists get into the fray.
ReplyDeleteNope.
Just haters.
J. W. Helkenberg
You mean like the hate you and that talentless idiot displayed on this comment section? http://ereview.org/2010/12/26/sign-of-confidence/
ReplyDeleteOr the kind of hate she displayed when she pulled Mikal Shapiro's show and then proceeded to bad mouth her for no reason? http://www.pitch.com/plog/archives/2010/02/10/keyholes-sexy-ripe-exhibit-disappears
The kind of jealous hate she consistently directs at KC's premiere artists David Ford and Peregrine Honig?
Or maybe you're referring to the kind of hate displayed in this and her other junior high doodles?
Enlighten us if you please JW.
Does she have trolls that follow her, or are these people that have first-hand experience?
*cups fart, throws it at you* HATE MY HATE!
ReplyDeleteThe only place most of the commentators have seen her doodles is here and we all know how much of an eye or ear Tony has for talent.
ReplyDeleteWow, once again upon reflection on the comments Jessica Logsdon obviously not only has followers who love to hate hate but stalkers who love keeping track of several of the many precious moments the artist has experienced in this fun cowtown of a city.
ReplyDeleteNot all experiences have been bad.

That, admittedly, is KC at its worst.
Not a good political satire cartoon. Keep trying.
ReplyDeleteLets see all the other artists of Kansas City do something better, come on all you great artists out there, you are out there right?
ReplyDeleteCome on artists lets see your best sly james cartoon, whatchya got skills or no skills, any skills out there, probably not. Well glad we got Jessica Logsdon at least one artist is smart enough to focus on local politics. Sad in a city of 2 million we only have one brave artists out there, but this is a country of pussies.
Hey 12:38. Blow it out of your ass.
