An important presser from Kansas City Activist Alonzo Washington one again demonstrates the crime fighter's tireless dedication to fighting crime in the metro. Take a look:

When it comes to citizen advocacy as it relates to crime in the metro, most of the gestures are merely ceremonies with very little action to solve crimes behind them. Unlike most activists in the metro, Alonzo Washington's goals are always designed to increase tips to law enforcement & to obtain them himself to actually close murder cases. He has been successful in doing this many times. His methods gives him the clear distinction in comparison to other anti-crime groups who just march & pray about crime. Alonzo Washington helps increase tips to law enforcement and has collected many case breaking tips himself.
Currently, he has tips that name a person of interest in the murder of Charlie Bates. Mr. Bates was killed on March 26, 2012 on 80th Street & Brooklyn in KCMO. All of the tips that Alonzo has obtained says a close family friend murdered Mr. Bates. The person of interest once lived with various members of the slain man's family. Mr. Bates' relatives have not seen the family friend since the murder took place. He never attended the funeral of his close personal friend as well. Alonzo Washington has two pictures of the person of interest that were sent to him via text message and he is prepared to release them to the press.
Alonzo Washington also has a eye witness who he has convinced to speak to the press about the murder she witnessed if her identity can be protected by the press. She will do a interview with the press if she can appear in shadow and her voice is changed. The cops are looking for this person for questioning regarding Charlie Bate's murder. Mr. Washington wants to use the press to ask the public to call in tips on the person of interest's location and to ask the person of interest to make contact with the police so that this matter can be addressed. If he is not the killer he can discuss his innocence with the police. If he is this effort may take him off of the streets.
The weekend is here & one person has already been found dead in KCK. Covering this effort may solve a crime instead just praying or marching about one. Alonzo Washington continues to try to find new ways to get people to come forward to drop a dime on crime.

Hope this isn't another "media blackout" or "hunger strike" by Washington. The victims' loved ones deserve better.

ReplyDeleteSo Alonzo has reduced himself to withholding evidence until he can find a way to benefit from it. Why is this news Tony? Just you promoting another another grifter living off of the government so he can avoid working like most people.

ReplyDeleteHey Tony. How about a follow up on the laughable $1 million Facebook fundraiser that Alonzo was hawking. He wanted $1 million to fund "his" efforts to "fight crime".
