A quick first person interview with KMBC's Mike Mahoney . . . The Mayor admits his takeover plan is dead.
He says he's okay with that and his plan was really to push academic achievement . . . Which isn't what I remember at all but okay.
LIKE IT OR NOT THIS IS THE FIRST MAJOR LEGISLATIVE FAIL FOR MAYOR SLY JAMES . . . SO IT'S UP TO YOU: WAS IT WORTH IT?!?!
Every politico takes a loss now and then but I'm afraid that this move reveals a short attention span from The Mayor's Office and an inability to gauge reality outside of their realm of influence.
But you decide . . .
Wow a blind man could have predicted this.
ReplyDeleteHey, at least he wanted to try something that might help.
ReplyDeleteDoes this guy have much more than a passing resemblance to a fucking ape??
ReplyDeleteHis school district takeover plan is dead; just like his political career. LOL
ReplyDeletehe is just one term just like funk so i guess just been funk
ReplyDeleteIf it is not about downtown it is not going to be really important.
ReplyDeleteFunk wins.
ReplyDeleteWhile some may applaud his effort and others ridicule it, the facts remain the same. This was just another distraction from the issue at hand. Nicastro was prepared to do something "that week" when Sly dropped his bomb. Politically it would have looked very bad for her to have dismissed the mayor's plan without giving it consideration. Now nothing has been done.
ReplyDeleteNow the legislature is choking on its saliva with a few big heads not allowing anything to happen unless their agenda(vouchers, teacher tenure, etc.) on the issue is addressed. Thus, nothing will be done, since all of these other issues have serious opposition.
This should have been a slam dunk. KCPS has "never" been fully accredited since the system was in place. That is nearly impossible to defend and even the most die-hard supporter of KCPS knows that the end of the KCPS is well over-due.
I was disappointed that they never came up with a cool logo.
ReplyDeletedo dat mean i's not gonna git a edumakashun?????
