TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!!! TOP FIVE HISTORY MAKING LEADERS IN KANSAS CITY'S BLACK COMMUNITY!!!

First of all, I should note that this is from an outsiders perspective.
By no means am I trying write an authoritative list . . . This is just a top five and a way for TKC to conclude Black History Month with a bit of a tribute. Some of the local coverage was nice but I think it left out that there are people making history right now in this community and it's important to put their work in the appropriate context.
Feel free to add your own suggestions . . . Here are just a few people I think deserve recognition . . .
Former Kansas City Mayor And Congressman Cleaver

He was the first Black Mayor of Kansas City and his ongoing work in Washington D.C. seems to be increasing his profile every day. There's a street named after him already but sometimes it's easy to forget this is a real person in Kansas City that's influencing every day life . . . And he's up for re-election.
MO House Rep. Brandon Ellington
Brandon deserves attention because his journey to elected office begins with volunteerism and community involvement and in this era of political factions and constant lobbying THAT is historic.
Former Kansas City Council Woman Carol Coe

We think Ms. Coe deserves recognition not only because she's one of the few women actively competing in an overwhelmingly male dominated field of community leadership and political activism but also because her service to her community has endured for so many years.
Community Activist Alonzo Washington
Alonzo Washington is a nationally recognized leader who had worked to fight crime in communities of every demographic persuasion. Currently, he uses social media and mainstream communications to continue his work to make communities safer.
Former Kansas City Councilman Alvin Brooks

A local pioneer in a great many respects, Mr. Brooks has worked to advocate for victims of violent crime in Kansas City for years. On radio and through local media his voice has constantly called to stop the violence in Kansas City.

Again, this is just a small tribute to conclude Black History Month and a recognition that there are so many people making history with their work in Kansas City.
A nice post but probably better suited for another blog.
ReplyDeleteCarol Coe?????
ReplyDeleteWho is the idiot that made this list? Adding Coe to the mix alone makes the resl of the list moot. As they have said for many years one bad apple ruins the basket full.
My favorite Carol Coe event, was the time she got in a boxing ring with some disc jockey. To duke it out. Years ago. But great entertainment.
ReplyDeleteCarol Coe, really?
ReplyDeleteWhat about Andre Rison?
ReplyDeleteIf this is the best they've got? No wonder the black murder rate is so high. A bunch of self-promoting GRIFTERS.
ReplyDeleteCarol Coe? Are you just checking to make sure we're awake?
ReplyDeleteDrop 2, 3 and 4, add Ollie Gates and just go with the top three.
ReplyDeleteWith the exception of Brandon Ellington, who has been in the legislature for a total of one month, the rest of these grifters are exactly what's wrong with the black community.
ReplyDeleteAnd you forgot all the tax money leaches like Gwen Grant, Clinton Adams, Ron Hunt, and the ACE school gang. And then there's the Citadel Project thieves, Ken Bachuus, Hazely, Tindall...the list goes on and on.
Serious leaders like MLK woundn't have anything to do with any of them!
Yes, good old Al Brooks has tried to stop the violence in KCMO by saying things like "it's the slave master mentality" in excusing a drive-by shooting at a church during a funeral.
ReplyDeleteIf homicides stopped, no more vigils, and without vigils, no more money for Al Brooks.
Nice business model.
Carol Coe and Alvin Brooks??!! Puhleeeze.
ReplyDeleteI'll give you Brandon, but to a person the others put self-promotion and lining pockets (including their own) ahead of doing the right thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd there are plenty of convictions, half-baked/half-completed "projects", a sky-high murder rate and a stop snitchin' attitude as testament to the effectiveness of the rest of the bums.
I love Carol Coe. And Brandon. Cleaver is totally non- responsive to the citizens he represents. Alonzo, well, ok- Brooks is ineffectual.
ReplyDeleteThat was Max Floyd of KY102 Fame who got in the ring with Coe for a little fun. But she got all hateful made remarks and didn't follow the chain of events as was to happen and instead she wanted to kick his ass so Max said ok bitch take this. Then all of Carols sons got all bent out of shape and wanted to take on Max and as they say doo doo hit the fan in Kemper Arena.
ReplyDeleteIn the end Max won just to bad he didn't take that pugil stick and shove it down her throat so far we would never have to hear her speak again.
Cleaver and the federal administration are doing black people no favors with their soon to be $6.00 gas. Riding the bus is not an option for getting food to the grocery stores. Yes, the fed's can control fuel cost with policies and regulations.
ReplyDeleteThe Usual Suspects.
ReplyDeleteAlvin Crooks? Infamous for being a crooked, self-serving, illegitimate seed planting, rotten tooth wearing jack@?%. What has he done for this community, other than harass the good people of this City. His political career stopped at City Council. No one in their right mind would have voted him Mayor of this town. He's police commissioner ONLY, let me stress ONLY, because he's good friends with Jay Nixon. Jay's reign is coming to an end too! Pray vigil to make this list a reality; otherwise it’s just a joke and indicative of a SLOW news day. Gimme a break!
ReplyDeleteLike or don't like Alivin Brooks. He doesn't have much to do with Jay Nixon.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jay Nixon isn't going to lose to a jerk like Spence.
Brandon Ellington please become a "REPUBLICAN" so I can openly vote for you.:)
ReplyDeleteWhat? That's really far off base but people always circulate that one. His votes are all Democrat. That's just weird.
ReplyDeleteHow many of these so called black leaders are standing up for the white child who was lit in fire by two black kids?
ReplyDeleteAll of these people listed have said nothing! If the races were reversed, there would be public outrage!
You seem pretty outraged.
ReplyDeleteAnother of Tony's jokes. This is rapidly turning into a joke blog with a bit of news and tits thrown in for legitimacy.
ReplyDeleteHey, a drug dealer gets shot or there are flash mobs on the plaza and there is public outrage and prayer vigils by the people listed.
ReplyDeleteYoung teenage kid gets soaked in gasoline and lit on fire and these "leaders" say nothing.
That is wrong.
Put the title under the name game.
ReplyDeleteSome go under multiple photos
Peeping Tom
Statutory rapist
Served time in jail
Drug addict
In it for the money
Non taxpayer
Misuse of taxpayer dollars
Adulterer
Racist
Tony you don't have a clue. Brandon Ellington is the only one on this list worth his salt, at this point. He sparked a Grassroots rise that include an active movement to draw attetion to the YOUNG LEADERSHIP OF ALL RACES.Why are you posting this, you trying tomake the black community a joke?
ReplyDeleteCarol Coe is a train wreck. If she's getting involved again things will only get worse. The rest are harmless idiots just out to make a buck.
ReplyDeleteIf Tony is trying to make the black community a joke, he's way too late and there's a long line in front of him.
ReplyDeleteAnd this list is just the tiniest of tips of the iceberg.
Just throw someone else's dollar on the table, get out of the way for your own safety, and see who shows up.
In fact, the list of folks who DON'T show up will be shorter.
And the same folks get invited to every feast. Just take a look at the Chamber Troost project.
The little white boy was sniffing gasoline and he lied about the whole incident you dick head.
ReplyDeleteWant to know why we are supporting Representative Brandon Ellington, go to mo.house.gov go to his name and click on the last link on the bottom rightside and you will find out just how hard this young man has been working in the 30 days that he has been in the house. I happen to be a white man that is not only daily bases with africian americans. Brandon Ellington I have respected from day one when he was very green stepping into the political field he has been the only candidate, elected officials that has kept his word concerning his agenda about being for all the people. He is the real deal.
ReplyDeleteThese are the "best" niggers in KC? If that be true, then just keep up the killing rate on the eastside and thin the ranks even further. In any case, just another covey of niggers on parade.
ReplyDeleteYou're the only nigger. Grow up. The racist act is dead like your little dick.
ReplyDeletehahahaha....8:31 nigger lover alert!!!! shut up pussy.
ReplyDelete6:20 am today had the best post, and I enjoyed playing "Match the Fail with the Fraud". But you could have added: "Got Elected to Mayor and Went to Disneyland... on the City Dime" to the list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the game! It was fun!
Without Alan Wheat, none of these people would have held office. His omission proves that ignorance is not bliss...
ReplyDeleteAlan Wheat was the pilgrim grifter. This group is just Grifters 2.0.
ReplyDeleteBill,just what is "grifters"?
DeleteA grifter is a swindler, pure and simple. The name fits all of those people.
ReplyDeleteLo, know explain why you are double d's d bag & dick head!
