TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS BRISTLE OVER GOP APPOINTMENT TO ZOO COMMISSION!!!

During a contentious election year . . . Jackson County Democrats are raising some interesting questions about recent appointment in what is the last Democratic stronghold in Missouri.
JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF CHUCK CAISLEY TO THE ZOO COMMISSION GIVEN HIS FRIENDLY RELATIONSHIP WITH THE MISSOURI GOP!!!

Nobody is saying that Mr. Caisley isn't a good guy. As the leader of the zoo’s campaign committee he probably deserves some recognition.
But Jackson County insiders remind us that this is an important and influential position and Mr. Caisley is known for keeping company with GOP power brokers like Jeff Roe. And while participation in the Zoo tax by Mr. Roe and his homies was seen as a move to make them more "mainstream" . . . The fact is that strident JaxCo Democrats question if the move isn't giving too much away. Also, there's this . . .
LET'S NOT FORGET THAT JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE SANDERS IS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIR AND OFFERING ZOO COMMISSION SANCTUARY FOR A GOP AFFILIATED DUDE LIKE CAISLEY IN HIS COUNTY ISN'T A GOOD LOOK FOR A PARTY THAT'S STRUGGLING WITH SUPER-MINORITY STATUS!!!
Behind the scenes we hear that Democratic legislators and party loyalists Theresa Garza Ruiz and Crystal Williams had their feathers ruffled by this appointment and raised some concerns.
In the final analysis, while the GOP and Democrats getting together to supporter higher taxes might move for the local elite . . . The only result for people on the street seems to be higher taxes and an increasingly complicated web of local power broker connections.
DEVELOPING . . .
I would think Theresa would do a great job of looking after the animals; particularly the hippos.
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of petty crap that makes Jackson County and KCMo such laughing stocks in the metro.
Goodbye any kind of serious bi-state efforts.
Mike isn't a real Democrat. If he was this never would have happened.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bad move mayby he made a deal for something its a red state so lets help them.
ReplyDeletePathetic that even zoo appointments are conotroversial based on partisan politics. Maybe Mr. Caisley is the best person to do the job...make the zoo a world class attraction for all, not just Dems. Or maybe it is all about the money and which party can get their hands on the cash for their own purposes.
ReplyDeleteIts why we only have 8 democratic Senators we keep giving it away.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Party Chair lead by example lets make a deal
ReplyDeleteGarza for County Executive
ReplyDeleteWhy wasnt this appointment offered at the meeting like they do the Sports Authority . INSIDER DEAL
ReplyDeleteKCMO government is crooked and voters are oblivious.
ReplyDeleteTax payers will be sure to elect new crooked city government at the next election- KCMO tax payers have been doing it for years. Start screening the prospects for office that dictate your future. It is really up to you!
ReplyDeleteI will never vote for another Jackson County tax
ReplyDeleteMike Sander and his bands of crooks did it again
ReplyDeleteGarza for Executive
ReplyDeleteTheresa for Executive
ReplyDeleteSanders has too many jobs he needs to to concentrate on the County and leave partisan politics alone
ReplyDeleteThe only genuine "power" that's brokered by Jeff (Fat Fuck)Roe, is who gets to the front of the line at the local buffet. What a God damned slob...He's in a league with Chris (Fat Fattie) Christy...
ReplyDeleteFile this story under "Who gives a shit".
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me why this is a big deal. What is political about this. Democrats vs. Zoo commission?
ReplyDeleteIts a big deal because we have plenty of qualified democracts who deserve this this . Why no publish this opening and do it in the sunshine
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why Republicans should be prevented from serving on a public board. Why should this be exclusively run by Democrats?
ReplyDeleteWho cares about what those bozo's think down at Jackson County!
ReplyDeleteCaisley is an excellent choice! Garza is off her rocker for fighting him. He worked harder on the Zoo tax than anyone. As a conservative, he showed he could cross party lines and support a tax to benefit one of our city's greatest amenities. That speaks volumes about his capabilities and his character.
ReplyDeleteIf the Jackson Co. Legislators had HALF the character of Chuck Caisley, the County wouldn't be such a hell hole as it is now.
I dont care about the party but it should have been announced and people ask to apply instead of an insider deal . Seems like Jackson County always has a sunshine problem
ReplyDeleteIts about politics as usual in Jackson County picking their friends and not caring about long term effect . Alot of people voted for this tax they deserved notice to apply for this position
ReplyDeleteGarza for Executive
ReplyDeleteMust be a very slow news day. No real differance between the two political parties. Either way OLIGARCHY wins, taxpayers lose.
ReplyDeleteYea, there shouldn't be a Republican involved in anything in Jackson County! After all, the liberals have done such a bang up job!
ReplyDeleteWho can divide the zoo animals by political party? All of the north-facing ones have southern ends, and that about fits into the whole political circus!
ReplyDeleteThere is no need to divide them Sanders already has to his benefit .
ReplyDeleteAsk the Missouri Senate with only 8 votes if there is a need to divide them moron
ReplyDeleteIts about fairness not about parties it should not be a pic of just a few people the whole County voted and they should be informed and allowed to be in the process .
ReplyDeleteHello!! The ballot stated that representatives would be selected by the county from a slate selected by the Friends of the Zoo. Nothing was said about applications or citizens applying. If you haven't been involved with the Zoo, you have no clue how to manage the tax dollars. The county residents were informed when they voted. This is just Garza and Williams needing some Midol and not being able to think outside their own shrinking little world.
ReplyDeletePERIOD and quite frankly its getting annoying to manage around the monthly!!
ReplyDeleteCallahan for County Executive!!!
ReplyDelete1:30 PM is Jason Grill.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see a real zoo, go to Omaha for a weekend. The zoo puts KC to shame and probably always will. Has nothing to do with Reps and Dems, just corrupt people living off the public dime.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, that is the story of Kansas City.
You know how corrupt the Democrats are.
ReplyDeleteTKC chronicles that daily.
So it will be nice to have a Republican on board.
