COUNCIL DUDE SCOTT WAGNER PROPOSES A COMPLETELY USELESS DAY TIME CURFEW TARGETING KANSAS CITY STUDENTS TOO!!!

From a very tiny position of authority, Kansas City Councilman Scott Wagner is attempting to put even more of the children of his constituents into the system.
TAKE A LOOK AT COUNCIL DUDE WAGNER'S PLAN FOR A DAY TIME CURFEW DURING SCHOOL HOURS FOR KANSAS CITY'S SCHOLARS!!!
Ordinance #120180
"Amending Chapter 50, Code of Ordinances, by enacting a new Section 50-242, concerning a daytime curfew for minors when school is in session."
Never mind that this kind of legislation doesn't really work in the real world . . . Maybe treating minors like suspects is a good policy. What's silly is expecting police officers to serve as parents as well.
Still . . . The proposed 2nd offense $100 fine and an appearance at municipal court for repeated offenses is a probably another effective way to burden po'folk. But again, this bit of legislation is mostly the fantasy of a Council Dude looking for a way to build a meager list of accomplishments.
Harmless.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with referring to our school kids as just that, school kids. This bullshit of "scholars" was something dreamed up by that worthless Airhead West.
ReplyDeleteAll smoke and mirrors . Wagner won't have a free ride next time
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke how do you enforce, we can't stop the murder rate
ReplyDelete"another effective way to burden po'folk"
ReplyDeleteIf they stop skipping school then maybe some of them won't have to keep on being "po'folk" the rest of their lives.
With all the important. Issues we find time to do useless legislation that is ineffective
ReplyDeleteI think 7:08 is right that Wagner will be fighting for this Council seat next time around and, if the rate he's going is any indication, it will be mighty tough haul.
ReplyDeleteScott's a nice guy but he's been beholden to a lot of different interests from his election and doesn't really seem to be pursuing an independent identity.
As a neighborhood leader he did a good job of identifying and articulating matters of importance to neighborhoods.
He needs to return to that form.
No, he really doesn't need to return to the neighborhoods, thank you very much
ReplyDelete8:53- Is that because you believe he can be more effective working for neighborhoods on Council or you don't like him and don't want him back?
ReplyDeleteCOULD SOMEONE PLEASE REMOVE THIS TRASH FROM THE CONCOURSE AREA AND TAKE IT BACK NORTH OF THE RIVER WERE IT BELONGS?1?
ReplyDeleteYou people are unbelievable. Bitch and bitch. Why don't you propose something? And make sure its legal and affordable. I see enough idiots with simple solutions like "throw them in jail" or "fire everyone". that's stupid and short sighted. Stand for something. Don't stand against everything.
ReplyDeleteThird offense should be mandatory castration. Then they wouldn't be having more little "scholars" to perpetuate the cycle of violence with.
ReplyDelete8:59, he is all talk and no action, really don't want him back
ReplyDeleteWhy is it useless? The police see kids out and about in the middle of the day, they stop them and ask why they aren't in school. Seems reasonable to me.
ReplyDeleteDespite all the mismanagement and stealing by the adults, isn't real problem with the KC schools that the kids are a bunch of little thugs and thieves who don't care enough about themselves to learn and who have parents who are just as stupid as they are?
KCPD would be trying to find parent(s) or responsible party, there is no alternative school sight for these kids to be placed in, school district does not want them back in school that day after they have skipped school because they are probably under the influence of some substance. So the cops are stuck with them. Parent(s) need to be held accountable, school district needs to educate, and cops don't need to be babysitters.
ReplyDeleteKCPS should use one of their vacant schools as a truancy/curfew center.
ReplyDeleteMake it a miserable place so they don't want to back.
This bill will unfairly target homeschoolers like my kids. I love to take my kids to museums, exhibits, etc on Tuesdays when I dont go into work. Daytime is a perfect time to take my kids to things like Union Station. And they are....wait for it.... learning! Should we make that a crime?
