Boy Set on Fire by Teens in East Side Neighborhood
Some of the details:
"The victim goes to East High School. The boy walks home from school. When he got to his porch, two older teens grabbed him, pinned his arms behind his back and then poured gas from a gas can on the boy. They then set the boy on fire."
The victim looks white and here's talk of a "hate crime" in this case already. If folks didn't think things could get any worse for Kansas City Public Schools . . . They just did.

ReplyDeleteThat's a murder 1 charge for those teens. I'd vote to try them as adults. Felony in their future. No child should be bullied or set on fire. Winder what family those kids belong too. Poor reflection on them.

ReplyDeleteThis is the first story I have seen on here that I actually care about. There is one thing that constantly pisses me off about this blog. All the undertones (usually overtones) of racism on here. This is a shame. It doesn't matter what the race. Hate is hate and bullying is out of control. Everyone needs to be vigilant about violence... be aware, eyes open, stand up, and call the cops! There should be officers involved everytime violence is witnessed and that goes for school too. Cops called everytime!

They are just confused, uneducated and brought down by the white folks. It's the white man's fault that black people kill each other and commit all these crimes. You people are idiots.

The great French socialist Simone Weil said it best when she said: "If you don't care about every martyred child, you don't care about any of them." Promises to be interesting how the "usual suspects" around this city react to this incident--anybody care to bet that it will be on the front page of the Star tomorrow, that it will lead off the discussion on "KC Week", that it will lead off the TV news tomorrow? Well, if it does not, everyone in town should remember Simone's words--these words tell the truth about the "concern" for children that a lot of the ciy's political class really has. ReplyDeleteThis is Jackson County. They are juveniles. The most that will ever happen to these kids is that they PERHAPS may be locked up in a juvenile facility for a few years (less then two) and will be back out to kill another poor soul.

ReplyDeleteMoving the police farther from where this happened is really abandoning the old Shefield/Northeast neighborhood. Hardly a police presence their now, except for their Section 8 rental properties. Hope they are better cops than landlords.

ReplyDeleteThis story is terrible and sad if all the facts are true. I used to teach and work with kids in this neighborhood. A lot of good people, but many come from poor and oportunistic backgrouds. Would not be shocked if this turns out to be a fabrication of some kind for attention(kid lit him self up.) A gas can and lighter happen to be handy at the very moment he is targeted in his yard?Sad either way. There are people and kids roaming all over this neighborhod, hopefully, someone saw something

They didn't light the kid on fire. They lit some spilled gasoline on the ground. Hardly a capital offense.
Where is the OUTRAGE???? Go to KCTV5.com for the real story. I'll give you the synopsis here. The victim was white. The perpetrators are black. Police are considering investigating it as a hate crime. That would be a first. I'll believe it when I see it. One of the kids they are looking for was wearing green Jordans. In other words in this shitty neighborhood filled with people on welfare, a kid was wearing $200 shoes. I wear business casual to work and don't have on $200 worth of clothes total. The rate the black "community" is regressing is astounding. If you are old enough to remember the 1970's you would have never thought black people are where they are today. They have achieved the impossible. There really is no hope for 80% of them. Where are the black "leaders" marching for this poor kid set on fire? If this was reversed there would be riots in the ghetto. But since it's just some white kid, nothing.

I wish someone out there would put up a huge reward to find these heartless, cruel, and racist people, I almost guarantee money will always bring justice, and find these two individuals and set their asses on fire and let them suffer as this poor kid had to.

If this had been a black boy getting set on fire by white kids, it would be on national news. But it's always hush, hush when a black "person" does a hate crime. I hope these pieces of garbage get back what they did...if they don't on earth, they will certainly BURN IN HELL!

No doubt if these violent predatory thugs were to show up in suburban districts there would be no problem since they would now be in "good schools". Something magical in suburban brick and mortar I guess.

Also, his parents are just using this as an excuse to leave the "bad schools". I guess without this "excuse" they would be stuck there forever and ever. The phrasing of the sentence "I hate that this had to happen" seems odd, as "I hate that this happened" would seem more apt. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. What a guy that Alonzo is.
