More number crunching that examines the thesis put forth by the KCPD Chief . . .
Why is Chief Forte saying "don't panic because this report didn't examine 2010 and 2011 numbers." If math is correct, the Chief should be lucky they only used 2009.
As he points out the 2009 numbers show 110 homicides 81 of which were black victims at an average of 73.6%.
If he feels 2010 and 2011 should have been examined, when averaging the two years together, there would have been an average of 110 homicides (equal to 2009), 83.5 of which were black victims (thats 2 more than 2009 numbers) at a percentage of 75.85% (2% higher than 2009).
If you averaged all three years 2009 to 2011 together: 110 homicides (still equal to 2009), 82.6 of which were black victims (up 1 from 2009) at an average of 75.1% (up 2% from 2009).
What is he thinking?
What's important in all of this is to remember that EVERYONE seems to be dedicated to reducing this number. And that's one of the positive things to come out of this conversation.

ReplyDeleteUntil the black community comes to grips with the fact that criminal behavior and homicides in the black community are their own problem, nothing's going to change.
The public runs away and the police can only react.
And as the east side continues to slide into oblivion, KCMO south of the river goes right along with it. And all the millions of tax dollars poured into grandiose projects won't do a thing.
SOS, I agree. Until the citizens in the neighborhood indicate their intolerance for this stuff, nothing is going to change.

Here's the deal. Major crime and Homicides are down Nation-wide, Only in Kansas City is crime RISING and continues to do so. The question is what are city officials doing in low crime cities that KCMO is not.
ReplyDeleteThe "highest risk behavior" is electing a black mayor who doesn't give a shit about the fact tha KC is developing a reputation as one of the Country's most dangerous cities. He'd rather play around with toy trains and schools he has no authority over. God forbid he'd take on something he has responsibility for. The Honeymoon is over...when is the next election!

ReplyDeleteSOS pretty much sums it up. The PTB just want the violence contained. The jokers in the media really don't give a damn and the numbers make a story de jour. But the media will not critize the total disintegration of the "black culture". The city probably benefits as the gangsters kill each other off. The true victims are the poor that are stuck living in the war zone.

ReplyDeleteThe black community has to show that it wants this type of thing to stop or else it will just perpetuate. This type of behavior has just become a lifestyle and the black community needs to send a message that they will stop killing each other.
