TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! FORMER COUNCILMAN TERRY RILEY COULD SOON MAKE A KANSAS CITY COMEBACK!!!
Time passes quickly in Kansas City politics.
Not so long ago we elected a new Council and Mayor with a great deal of hope for change from politics as usual.
Then the Mayor's son allegedly punched some white broad and it's been all downhill ever since.
But that doesn't mean the whole hot mess isn't worth watching. And there are CERTAINLY some interesting developments in play.
To wit . . .
FORMER KANSAS CITY COUNCILMAN AND CURRENT POWER PLAYER TERRY RILEY COULD SOON BE BACK AT CITY HALL WORKING ON SOME IMPORTANT PROJECTS FOR THE URBAN CORE!!!
How do we know this . . .
* We were surprised to see Former Councilman Riley @ The Urban Summit not so long ago. The push for the sales tax increase announced at this event could be part of Mr. Riley's higher profile.
* The 1 year limit imposed on Former Council members lobbying @ City Hall has almost expired for Mr. Riley. This Spring he'll be completely in the clear.
* Former Councilman Riley was instrumental in passing the Zoo tax and has certainly built up his Kansas City consulting biz.
Also . . .
IN AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH FORMER KANSAS CITY COUNCILMAN TERRY RILEY, TKC CONFIRMED THAT HE HAS INCREASED HIS LOCAL PROFILE AS OF LATE. MR. RILEY ALSO TALKED ABOUT SOME WORK HE WOULD LIKE TO SEE COMPLETED!!!
"I'm extremely interested to work on project that benefit the urban core and all of Kansas City," Former Councilman Riley said. "Not just in terms of legislation but also in bringing new business to the metro, there is so much we can accomplish."
Mr. Riley spoke of efforts to reignite interest in Citadel Plaza and a host of other projects on Linwood and even in the 18th & Vine Corridor.
Previously, TKC noted that Mr. Riley has done some consulting for American Water.
With the vast array of connections Mr. Riley has garnered over the course of his career, his expertise will undoubtedly be utilized by a great many people.
For voters and City Hall watchers who might have missed Mr. Riley . . . From what we're hearing it'll be like he never left.
DEVELOPING . . .
Terry is a good guy. He gets a bad wrap because of some of his political allegiances.
ReplyDeleteThat and the fact he's a totally corrupt scumbag who doesn't give a shit about actually serving ANYONE but himself.
ReplyDeleteIf he takes a city job, Riley cannot become president of Freedom Inc., nor chairman of the JaxCo Democratic Party -- which makes me think some Democratic insiders got the man the job.
ReplyDeleteSo hard working city employees who have worked for the city more then 20 years might be layed off, yet they are going to bring this joker back?
ReplyDeleteYou know, we could probably print informative information like that but then we would be crossing that line into truth rather than just cutting and pasting from emailed news releases. That sounds pretty difficult, and it might make car dealers mad or something. So forget that! Just let the people remain stupid and hopefully a few of them will still buy the paper that way.
ReplyDeleteThose that have underestimated TR have done so at their own peril. He's a huge talent with a vast network of supporters, balck and white. He's also young and will be a player for sevaral decades.

ReplyDeleteMark Morrison thinks this return should be accompanied by some really great music.
Terry is teh guy in the white hood.
How ironic.
For a brief moment, it was hard to see how the millions of dollars that the proposed east side sales tax would generate could be made to disappear into thin air.
ReplyDeleteNow we know.
Terry Riley is the man.
ReplyDeleteTerry is a hardworking leader for everyday people in his community. It is good to see him succeeding.
ReplyDeleteIn other words he could never succeed in any occupation not connected to politics.
ReplyDeleteTR is one of the main reasons behind the City's recent large lawsuit payouts. If it wasn't for his racialially motivated steering of projects while he was on the City Council, the taxpayers would not have had to foot the bill for the Citadel disaster or the Howard muni judge debacle. I guess if blindly basing your decisions on the color of someones skin and not on the merits of their accomplishments make a great man, then TR is a GREAT MAN.
ReplyDeleteOf course he wants to take care of the Urban Core. That shitty trash bag place they take care of every time the issue comes up has never worked. When you have a bunch of zoo animals tearing the place up, it's never gonna be fixed. Spend the money wisely and just burn the urban core down and start fresh.
ReplyDeleteI bet most of the anti Riley comments come from one IP address that is assigned to Fred Arbanas' crazy aide.
ReplyDeleteKeep this guy out of anything in City Hall! I bet he still has problems paying his water bill!
ReplyDeleteJudging by the rapidity of the positive Riley comments and their lack of imagination, it is apparent that Chris Moreno still has Terry Riley's dick planted firmly in his rectum.
ReplyDeleteTerry Riley's nothing more than a fucking grifter, just like the rest of 'em. He smiles nice but don't forget how he used to act, when he was on the City Council. He is just plain goofy.
ReplyDeleteThis comment comes from no political operator. I have met Terry Riley a couple of times and can tell you that he is a snake oil salesman from little more than his handshake. He is expert at telling you what you want to hear, that's about it.
ReplyDeleteYes, he will be a force around City Hall for years to come. That is because he doesn't have any other skills. He will leach the system like countless others before him and countless others to come.
Terry Riley you da man!
ReplyDeleteTerry Riley is the essence of a true community leader. Good for him.
ReplyDeleteTerry Riley worked endlessly for his constituents. I'm sure he'll do just as good for his clients. Hard work pays off!
ReplyDeleteMoreno, get yo' fat greasey butt back up in here and take care of yo' dadday, buoy!
ReplyDeleteTerry Riley is a God-like being; and we are truly blessed to have lived at a time when he walked this Earth, which is not really worthy of a man of such uncommon intellect and grace.
ReplyDeleteWe should all contact the Mayor and City Council, as well as all media outlets to extoll his virtues -- which are really to numerous to list here now -- and urge that they give him a lifetime contract, structured entirely as a retainer (with no actual work product required). And certainly the level of compensation should at least be in seven figures per year.
terry worked has ass off so he could line his pockets. riley cannot be trusted but since when does this city care about crooks in the government.
ReplyDeleteMoreno needs the money that he earns working for Riley. Moreno has defaulted on student loans, credit card debt and is behind on his child support. The likes of Riley or Newt Gingrich is the only kind of client that would hire Moreno.
ReplyDeleteConsidering Moreno and his wife are still married it would certainly be hard to be "behind on his child support" you idiot LOL.
ReplyDeleteThis winter has been pretty warm. It needs Terry Riley to help bring snow. He's that cool.
ReplyDeleteI can trust Terry Riley. He does all that he can to make things better, not for just himself, but for the community. Who are the jealous ones?
ReplyDeleteShut your moreno hole.
ReplyDelete8:22am- AMEN!
ReplyDeleteJust like my raise went to pay $250/hr for the consultant hired to fix water.
No one in KC evokes petty emotion more than TR. He's the lightning rod that every city has and he'll be a huge player for many years.
ReplyDeleteHaters go away....it's not working.
agreed
ReplyDeleteTerry, expose your resume. Your are more than qualified to get things done!
ReplyDeleteTerry is a City Hall looter who race baits and works the system. He will join the pox of other City Hall ex-officios in raping what is left of our city government.
ReplyDeleteI think Terry got a degree from an online course from some university in Africa. He is very qualified to sell his people out much like the African slave traders of the past.
ReplyDeleteDo you all remember when he filibustered at the council hearing when they were going to fire Wayne Cauthen? He was so boring he nearly put himself to sleep.
