TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! TIPSTERS HELP GET KANSAS CITY READY FOR WINTER BY EXPOSING FLEET TRUCK HOT MESS AND WASTE!!!

I hate to start the New Year with a brag . . . So let's call this a bit of follow-up!!!
BEHIND THE SCENES TKC TIPSTER REPORTING ON UNTOUCHED AND UNUSED KANSAS CITY TRUCKS HAS CREATED QUITE A BIT OF INTEREST!!!
Here's the initial report . . .
TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! NEW KANSAS CITY SNOW PLOWS AND TRUCKS SIT UNPREPARED AND UNUSED!!!
What I liked most was the feeble attempt at obfuscation from commenters full of (self) righteous indignation among other things . . . There was even a funny comment that the photos weren't taken on a City lot . . . This photo featuring a few KCMO tags should disprove just a bit of the disinformation put out there by City Management . . .

Here's part of the original message that puts all of this into perceptive . . .
"Fleet trucks, brand new, just sitting. No plows attached. Hope it doesn't snow."
Oh gosh . . . And then there was the stuff about the species of trucks . . . As if any City automobile sitting around collecting dust is a good thing.
To wit . . .
THANKS TO TKC TIPSTERS, KANSAS CITY MIGHT NOW BE A LITTLE BIT MORE PREPARED FOR WINTER SNOW!!!
And if City Hall doesn't do a good job . . . At the very least, we tried to warn you.
In either scenario . . . TKC TIPSTERS STAY WINNING!!! And at the very least we've kept a few folks in City Management checking local blogs instead of sleeping.
And that's the closest we've come to progress so far in Kansas City.
DEVELOPING . . .
good.
ReplyDeleteIt's Kansas City where your E-Tax dollars go to waste.
ReplyDeleteNew pictures? I need more proof that there was change.
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste of Tax-dollars.
ReplyDeleteCity lots are nothing but wasted resources. They're a go to for bored reporters and bloggers.
ReplyDeleteNothing ever changes in KC.
Keep paying that etax.
And yet there is still no proof that those are recent pictures. And no information on where these alleged recent pictures were taken.
ReplyDeleteFact of the matter is, these are old photographs, and there isn't a city lot of "new and unused" trucks that would be used for snow removal or sand/salt applications.
Tony continues to spread false information.
Like I said before ... it's a perfect situation for Tony to spin and bloviate. If the trucks DID have plows already attached, he'd bitch and moan about how much money the city spent paying people to prepare trucks when there's no obvious need (i.e., there's no immediate forecast for snow, so why spend all that time and money getting the trucks ready?). Since the trucks do NOT have plows attached, Tony can then spin the story to blame the city for (in his opinion) not being prepared enough for any upcoming storms.
ReplyDeleteHey, Tony. Here's a scoop. I've got a picture of an airplane. It might be taking off. It might be about to crash. It might be full of vacationers headed to Hawaii. It might have terrorists aboard. Why don't you just make up whatever story that suits you?
KC snow removal better be sterling Nanook. If not, then post a photo of yourself with a shovel on your street.
ReplyDeleteAre all the new police cars still parked at the airport?
ReplyDeleteexcellent question. I hope not.
ReplyDeleteAlways something to bitch and whine about isn't there.
ReplyDelete9:15, do you work at 5300 Municipal? These photos were taken less than two weeks ago. They are City trucks on City property. They are a fleet sitting unused and unprepared. Sorry these facts are a threat to your job, but it's the way it is. Since you obviously work for Public Works, why don't you quit commenting and work to see if you can get these trucks off the lot and into the field.
ReplyDeleteDo any of you, including TKC know if the new trucks can be retro fitted with the plows and spreaders that are currently on hand? Are the beds and plows on order? Are these even spreader or plow trucks? The problem is all we see are some new trucks. We dont have any info relating to their intended purpose. But hey, lets not quibble over shit like facts.
ReplyDelete11:06, aren't you glad that you Public Works employees have today off? Now you can sit and comment and try to divert attention away from the post that is 100% accurate, but at least you're not doing it on City time. Oh, I forgot. You sleep on City time, or drive your take home car out south at 3:30 pm every day so you can beat the rush hour traffic. Of course you don't have time to comment while at work, since you're never there.
ReplyDeleteHmm.
ReplyDelete10:59 says the photos were taken less than two weeks ago.
All of the trucks could be outfitted with plows in less than a day.
So from that perspective, the trucks in those photos could already have plows on them.
That would make this whole issue rather moot.
But Tony hasn't bothered to mention that in any of his posts.
Neither has 10:59.
Until about an hour ago.
Hmm.
12:28, the point is the trucks aren't outfitted, still aren't, and have been sitting for some time. The issue isn't moot at all. It's City inefficiences laid bare.
ReplyDeleteSo Tony STILL hasn't made a single, simple phone call to find out what these trucks really are?
ReplyDeleteAnd a picture of a pickup truck and a van with city plates proves that the yellow/orange trucks are . . . what?
10:59 It might interest you to know (or at least educate you) that ordering, preparing and maintaining the fleet is the responsibility of the General Services Dept. While these future snow plows might end up in Public Works (or Parks or Water) there is nothing these depts can do with them until they are prepped. Fleet Svcs has been as hard hit by staff reductions as everyone else and have little to no time to prepare them. So while you are bitching about City Staff having today off, I'm sure you would bitch about the expense of overtime paid for staff to work today. You want it all and don't want to pay for it. Get over yourself. Would you work for free?
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is good information 11:34.
ReplyDeleteGood lord! Is this really important? You people are used to the mark Funkhouser mentality and want to find fault with everything.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the story behind those trucks. They are probably trash trucks for all I know. The fact is that its not snowing. Let's wait to bitch until the city fails to properly plow the streets when it finally snows next month.
Attention city employees: can't you take a break from posting during a holiday?
ReplyDeleteSo where is the picture of these trucks now outfitted and good to go, all because of a TKC "tipster"?
ReplyDeleteExactly how is this an update or break through, or anything different from the first time this "story" was posted? Granted, it is a slow (real) news day...
ReplyDeleteCity license plates show us that this really is City property wasting away.
ReplyDeleteNot really new. followup.
what a load of nonsense b*llsh*t
ReplyDeletenon-story, period, as some have pointed out, above. non-story from a non-journalist who only thinks this is journalism
who also happens to think he and this crap are relevant
da'man=City employee
ReplyDeleteNeed to get some tampons and midol for all you city employees. You are lazy putrid and unemployable other than flipping burgers or greeting people at walmart. You deserve all the criticism your sorry. Asses deserve
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with flipping burgers or working at Wal Mart 7:28?
ReplyDeleteAre you saying they are lesser people? Are you really that arrogant?
I'm a city worker and you all can go fuck yourselves! Wait until it snows so you can have something to bitch about. I'm sure you would complain if the trucks were on the streets that we are wasting fuel. Why don't you go back to bitching about the cops and firemen. We are the real heroes for clearing your streets so your non driving asses can get to work. Tony is a fat wetback with no life. Eat a burrito spic!!!
ReplyDeleteNow there is the City Hall worker we know and love!
ReplyDeletewhy havent you posted anything on the gang of 8 in t he police dept. after all the black chief is involved in it and the white detective that was demoted and the 2 black that were promoted im hoping the attorney general of missouri also investigates and hope they take the police dept to the cleaners like the mamy gate of funk. but this time it s the opposite racism and tony isnt talking about this
