TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! COUNCIL LADY JAN MARCASON WILL LEAD KANSAS CITY BUDGET HEARINGS!!! CITY HALL INSIDERS DOUBT HER SKILL!!!

The lady who is known for the best potato salad recipe in all of local politics is now in charge of the Kansas City budget debate.
That's right . . .
4TH DISTRICT COUNCIL LADY JAN MARCASON WILL CHAIR KANSAS CITY BUDGET HEARINGS!!!

She's got a lot to live up to . . .
Last time around former Northland Council Member Deb Hermann earned praise for her budget work from just about every political faction in Kansas City.

To wit . . .
AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS AND KANSAS CITY POLITICAL INSIDERS DON'T BELIEVE THAT COUNCIL LADY JAN IS UP TO THE TASK OF RUNNING TENSE BUDGET DISCUSSIONS!!!
As usual, TKC is always in favor of letting white ladies prove themselves . . . HOWEVER . . . It's a matter of fact that Council Lady Jan's rise to power is mostly due to the fact that everybody likes her and she is PATHOLOGICALLY pleasant.
But this budget isn't going to be as nice as a Brookside potluck where Jan regularly impresses with her potato salad concoctions.
Kansas City Firefighters are fighting to keep jobs.
There's big toy train money on the table.
The cash for local services keeps dwindling.
Promises of economic recovery have not come to pass and most reasonable people understand that a long-term local economic realignment is necessary.
On the topic of Ms. Marcason's leadership ability to guide us through all of this, there's a lot of pessimism:
"She'll get 'confused' on issues that are messy."
On her selection to this duty, hehe doody . . . TKC TIPSTERS say:
"I'm very disappointed. So are lots of other people."
Regarding the fact that budget matters may not be Council Lady Jan's strong suit:
"Her strong suit is the navy one she wears every other week."
Ouch.
As always we're hopeful that the Council Lady can rise to the occasion. However, so many KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS and City Hall Insiders who know more about the work of Council Lady Jan are not as optimistic.
DEVELOPING . . .
$$$$$$$$$$
ReplyDeleteMore in-fighting at City Hall.
ReplyDeleteNothing changes in Kansas City.
Mean while City workers will lose their jobs.
Jan will do what the swells and the other insiders tell her to do.
ReplyDeleteThere'll be lots of smoke and mirrors, but in the end the usual big worthless projects will get the money and services for actual residents will take the cuts.
How KCMO government works and for whom is as predictable as the sun coming up in the east.
And now, on to the new taxpayer-funded downtown hotel so the streetcars will have something nice and new to ride by empty.
Analytical thinking is not her strength. She never has figured out that the KC Pride Democratic Club is just a front for the Fire Fighters' Union under Louie Wright. She shows up for the wine and cheese night and never notices that most of the people in the room are straight. The sign says "Gay" so Jan assumes the sign is right. She never looks beyond the superficial. Like Dave Helling, she has no concept of "truth."
ReplyDeleteFunk wins.
ReplyDeleteA lot of good this did Deb Herrman...
ReplyDeleteFunk lost...
ReplyDeleteJan does what Burns and Mac tells her to do.
ReplyDeleteJan will do alright, I hear she is going bring potato salad for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI don't like her.
ReplyDeleteRemember that Jan almost made winners, out of the loser co-mayors, through poorly drawn up volunteer rules.
ReplyDeleteShe is owned by Burns & Mac.
ReplyDelete"Her strong suit is the navy one she wears every other week."
ReplyDeleteLOL How Insulting.
Prediction - Jeremy Lafaever is paid by some organization to testify at the Hearings and then will claim on his twitter feed that he was doing it on his own initiative.
ReplyDeleteName one city councilperson who has any background in finance, economics or accounting. If they went to college they studied political science and their real world experience is mostly in government or non profits.

ReplyDeleteI agree, thats why the city is in dire straits.
She does what B&V tell her too, period.
ReplyDeleteSomeone count how many "citizens" are wearing "Fire" shirts at these meetings.
ReplyDeleteI like how a Tony used a picture of her posing in front of the shitters.
ReplyDelete12:42, just FYI and I'm not saying good or bad either way but I think Russ Johnson's degree is in economics. He studied economics at Oxford. Too bad he's not on Finance committee.
ReplyDeleteLast year Jan didn't know what a 990 was nor how to get one. She didn't seem to know that all nonprofits getting money fom the city were susposed to send a 990 to the city for review.
ReplyDelete7:35 what???? Jan used to work for a nonprofit! Is she that clueless? We're in trouble.
ReplyDeleteJan seems like a nice lady. This budget is going to be really hard to put together. I hope she is up to it.
