KANSAS CITY'S LIST OF WRONGS!!!

Kansas City life in 2012 has taken a quick turn for the worse . . . And while I always try to look on the bright side and think of hotties like Belén Rodríguez . . .

We've got to be forthright . . .

JUST AS TKC PREDICTED . . . 2012 LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE A CRAP YEAR FOR KANSAS CITY!!!

Here are a few quick reasons why . . .

- Local political leaders are still ignoring the horrific number of Kansas City murders. At the outset of this month so many politicos acted as if the stats were wiped clean in the New Year. Unfortunately, we're already we'recounting 5 murders. Take a look at The KCPD Daily Homicide Analysis . . . There hasn't been much progress in significantly reducing this number in five years.

- The Kansas City budget debate is going to be brutal. Once again we're cutting services and people. However . . . CITY HALL SPENDING ON DEVELOPMENTS AND PIPE DREAMS STILL HAS NOT SLOWED DOWN!!!

- A commenter pointed out . . . City Hall is still backing an INTEREST FREE LOAN for the Kansas City Strip Trolley dumb idea that transports almost no one.

THE SHOOTING AT THE METH TOWN MALL WAS OVER BOOTY COMMENTS!!!

- This year Kansas City and surrounding areas seem to be settling romantic disputes with gunfire and murder. Now is a good time to keep it in your pants.

- The only hope touted for the urban core is a tax increase. Sadly, nobody has told urban core economists that tax money isn't free and actually works to depress economic activity.

- Kansas City's racial divide continues to grow. Suburban schools don't want to admit minority students and politicos work mostly to capitalize on so many divisions among the metro.

We very well might be "OneKC" but with more problems than anybody is willing to admit.

  2. As long as the roads out of town stay open and there are moving companies, KCMO will do just fine.
The few who are left, that is.

  3. Kansas City has ignored the Homicides and violent crime for years.
    Nothing new there.
Just a lot of false promises.
Yet everybody wants their pay raises for poor performance.

  4. I can't watch fox 4 news in the morning. Mike Thompson called Don's beloved old car a piece of junk right after he died. Mark Alford was so rude to him on the morning show. Karli Ritter was the only one that acted like she gave a darn. I hate these people. When someone kills themselves, and other people on TV see kinda wierd and rude "banter" as they like to call it on the news, it makes others want to blame them for the suicide. I know its not rational, but I blame Mike Thompson, as his asshole boss, and Mark Alford, as his frien-enemy who liked to bully tease him. They need a new slate over there, a new set, new people, a new concept, pretty much everything. The slogan is working for you. Apparently, working for them was so great it makes people want to kill themselves. If it's that bad of a place to work, it doesn't belong on my TV. They can have the Union Station memorial thing all they want, where the cast members pretended to give a care, but really I could see it was all show. Gees,Loren Halifax absolutely didn't care. Either that or her face was so botoxed she couldn't show concern. Hate them.

  6. The budget is busted but they want to buy more real estate. Good idea! Eliminate the few taxes your taking in and replace it will a police station which won't generate any tax revenue. Fire everyone of thosegoons at City Hall; especially Melba Curls who apparently doesn't know the boundaries of a district she's represented for years. Stupid is as stupid does!

  7. @ 8:24

The Fox staff is not responsible for Don Harmon''s suicide. That was Don's choice. Quit whining about how they picked on poor Don. He was a grown man, who made a grown up decision.

Play your heart strings for his wife and children. They are the real victims of Don's actions. If you don't like Fox news, don't watch! With your ignorant, blame somebody else response, your more suited for the channel 5 news anyway.

  8. Rampaging violent crime, terrible public schools, racial division, no tax base in the urban core and a crumbling municipal infrastructure and the trolley LOAN of 200,000 makes this list? Why not look at the city subsidized FREE money that P&L,18/Vine to the tune of 25-40 MILLION receive annually. This is tax money received by the city in part by all of the private entertainment districts(Martini Corner,Waldo,Brookside, and the Plaza) that pay sales tax. The trolley brings customers to these venues at an affordable price and keeps them from operating motor vehicles while bar hopping and having a good time. With all of the ills of the world find something better to do with your time and bully pulpit. Hope to see you on the trolley sometime soon if you can put down the internet porn and get out of your mom's basement.

  9. And speaking of violent crime---City Hall(SLY) and dying rag newspaper editorial dude Yael stated--since May of last year---the KCPD and the City could not survive without LOCAL CONTROL. Sly even said in June of 2011 that the City would file a Bill with the State in 2012 to get local control. What happend Tony? Where is all the rage for local control now? Yael has been mum since Forte' became Chief--and no Bill filed with the State. St. Louis filed in December. Makes you wanna go Hmmmm!
