    As someone raised in the Catholic faith I can tell you:

    Finn can only hope for forgiveness after he has:

    1. CONFESSED ALL his sins (and only a FULL confession -- no "Since you didn't ask me a certain question, I don't have to fully acknowledge ALL of my transgressions")

    2. done ALL HE CAN to aid in the effort to bring to justice those who have harmed the most innocent in the flock.

    3. made (and HELP MAKE the Church hierarchy make) as full a restitution as possible to those harmed.

    NOW ... AS ME IF I THIN K BISHOP FINN WILL FOLLOW THE CHURCH'S TEACHINGS IN THIS REGARD.

    NO, I DO NOT. BUT WE CAN ALL HOPE THAT THE NOTION OF JUSTICE IN THE HEREAFTER IS REAL -- IN WHICH CASE FINN AND MANY OTHERS WILL SPEND ETERNITY IN HELL.
