TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! THE KANSAS CITY STAR DOWNPLAYS HOMICIDE NUMBERS AND COMMUNITY WORK TO STOP THE KILLING!!!

The so-called paper-of-record has been neglectful of some really impressive community efforts to curb Kansas City Killings.

READ THIS QUOTE FROM A GROUP WORKING TO RAISE AWARENESS, PRAY AND HELP CURB KANSAS CITY'S MURDER RATE WHO CAN'T GET ATTENTION FROM THE STAR!!!

Check the testimony from a member of the Wornall Road Baptist Church . . .

"We hosted a "longest night" event (not a vigil) but an event to show compassion to the families of murder victims and to express our outrage at the violence in our city. Since Dec 20 there have regrettably been several addition killings. We will place the remaining crosses (all the crosses have the names of those who have been murdered and they are place according to the date of the killings) on our lawn on New Years day right after our worship service. I have made several attempts to get the Star to cover this, but with no results. sad. This is not a problem "east of troost" this is all our problem."

Word to Sienna Miller . . . I really don't know why it would be so hard to get attention from The Star . . . Maybe they're too busy chasing those Golden Ghetto ad dollars.

Important fact . . .

THIS IS A CHURCH IN A WHITE NEIGHBORHOOD WITH A DIVERSE CONGREGATION AND GREAT STANDING IN THE COMMUNITY JUST BEGGING FOR THE SO-CALLED "PAPER OF RECORD" TO TAKE NOTICE OF THEIR EFFORTS TO CURB THE NUMBER OF HOMICIDES IN KANSAS CITY!!!

More . . .

SO MANY GOOD PEOPLE IN THIS TOWN ARE REALLY JUST WAITING FOR LEADERSHIP WHEN IT COMES TO HELPING TO STOP LOCAL MURDERS AND RIGHT NOW IT'S NOT COMING FROM CITY HALL OR DEAD TREE MEDIA!!!

Kudos to TV news stations who have picked up this story and provided notice of people of faith from every demographic working to thwart so much Kansas City killing.

DEVELOPING . . .

Comments

  1. Maybe the church should try a different approach and plant their crosses in the park across the street from Mayor Sly's house! Perhaps that would be worthy of a story in the KC Star? Perhaps then, the politicos of this town would take notice of the death toll and work with the police department to develop a comprehensive plan to fully fund the police budget and put more cops on the streets? Doubtful, but it might be worth a try.

  2. behaving just as they've been cultured12/29/11, 5:42 PM

I don't think that a lack of awareness that subhuman black gangbangers are killing themselves off is the problem.
In fact, I think the entire city knows just what the problem is.
Unfortunately, there are no solutions to a death worshipping gangbanger culture.
Tell me that I'm wrong, oh wizened, enlightened folks.

  3. The Star knows vigils don't do shit and therefore aren't worth covering.

Candlelight and prayers are made-for-TV-news events.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR NEPHEW, TONY? DOESN'T THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR START AT HOME?

A slanderer and a killer. Some family.

  4. Dude, that's not my nephew. It's not a relative. We have the same last name. That's it.

  5. Of course the church won't get attention for their efforts.--they are tax payers. If they had no job, carried an EBT card, and were screaming for Obama money, The Star and other political race baiters would listen.

  6. Crosses in the churchyard are not efforts to curb violence. They are the efforts of well-meaning folks to have an event to show they care and then go on with their business.
What's missing in this effort is leadership in the black community to condemn the thuggish activities of a minority, encourage responsibilty and neighobrhood cooperation with the police, and some efforts to help residents understand how they can band together block-by-block to help with their own safety.
None of this has been or is being provided by the self-appointed "leaders" on the east side who are way more interested in making a buck for themselves by shaking down whitey and working to keep people on the east side as dependent on them as possible. And they continue to be stuck in the victimization-entitlement crap of the '60s where any kind of crime or action is blamed on everyone but the perpetrator.
Until some folks, both in the community and at city hall and the business community stop paying attention and bowing to the demands of these grifters, and some new leadership emerges, the chaos wll continue.

  8. the Star barely has reporters any more. have you seen a Sunday paper lately? there's hardly anything there. them not sending a reporter out to get this story--or virtually any other--should be no big surprise.
