TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY'S ADMINISTRATION ADOPTS "CODE OF SILENCE" ON FAMILY QUESTIONS!!!

Just about everybody is ready to quit 2011.
We're hoping people have learned from their mistakes.
For better or worse . . . Mayor Sly's Office is learning fast when it comes to questions about alleged misdeeds of family members.
NEWSIES FROM ACROSS KANSAS CITY'S MAINSTREAM MEDIA REPORT THAT MAYOR SLY'S PEOPLE ARE REFUSING SAY ANYTHING RECENT ALLEGATIONS AGAINST A FAMILY MEMBER!!!
Maybe this is a welcomed change of strategy given that Former Mayor Funky wouldn't shut up about his wife.
Still . . . Mayor Sly is staying the course and seemingly forcing a smile in even the most tense situations.
TKC EXCLUSIVE BACKGROUND . . . Last time around it was word from The Mayor's Office of an alleged punch of some white broad @ The Point that local media used to confirm a police report without any names.
TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! THIS TIME WE HAVE A VICTIM THAT REFUSES TO TALK AND WITNESSES WHO HAVE REMAINED OFF RECORD!!!
So far.

However . . . Even this strategy of silence and smiles evokes a question:
KANSAS CITY STRUGGLES WITH A HORRIFIC MURDER RATE AND MANY PEOPLE REFUSING TO SPEAK UP OR COOPERATE WITH POLICE!!! IS MAYOR SLY'S OFFICE SETTING A BAD EXAMPLE FOR REFUSING SOME MEDIA QUESTIONS GIVEN THE CONTEXT OF OUR LOCAL CONVERSATION REGARDING CRIME?!?!
Like it or not, this is an important ethical debate that will inform the discourse in all facets of Kansas City life.
Regarding the UNMENTIONED subject of such questions . . . A rather informed and connected supporter of Mayor Sly recently said: "He's a sweet kid, really. But he's a young man with a lot of media focus on him at a very young age. He's not a bad person, just someone who has made more than a few bad decisions like so many young people do."
So far . . . Kansas City has been exceptionally patient with Mayor Sly and tolerant of any minor trouble surrounding his office that is presumably unrelated to work at City Hall. More cynical people than TKC have stopped expecting politicians to lead by example.
But the honeymoon is over . . .
Kansas City is dealing with:
A HORRIFIC NUMBER OF MURDERS!!!
Old and busted infrastructure . . .
A FAILED School District . . .
Overall Global Economic Decline . . .
So many busted development schemes . . .
AND GIVEN ALL OF THIS ...
There really isn't any time for personal drama that will always surround the Mayor's Office.
Kansas City needs Mayor Sly to succeed. So maybe it's good news that he seems to be learning from his mistakes and moving on to committing brand new ones.
DEVELOPING . . .
Give it a rest Tony.
ReplyDeleteso is there any proof this actually happened, other than more of this non-proven Slanderellian blather?
ReplyDeleteI mean, if we want to talk about the child support Botello doesn't pay, why don't we?
Awwwwwww sssshhhhhiiieeeetttttt!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention that Kansas City suffers from poor leadership; Shitty (I mean City) Council is nothing more than the welfare line for political insiders who are incapable of working a real job; and still they refuse to do the job they were hired to do. There's a reason why an attorney would rather be Mayor than continue practicing law. There's a reason why a Political Science (aka General Education) major wants to be a City Councilman.
ReplyDeleteSly has done a very good job of buttoning down back chatter from the Mayor's Office or dissent from Council.
ReplyDeleteAnd after learning from Kyle's first couple moments of stupid, he will put the kibosh on anything arising out of his personal life and especially his family.
"I mean, if we want to talk about the child support Botello doesn't pay, why don't we?"
ReplyDeleteAre we supposed to believe that any living female of childbearing age would let TKC have sex with them?
Doubtful.
Sly's son is a little creep. That has nothing to do with Sly.
ReplyDeleteThey don't even talk much.
Too different subjects. Move on TKC. Move on before you regret it.
But he will fix KC Schools.
ReplyDeleteRight?
I agree with 7:30 and 8:54. Move on. Should we hold Sly to getting the murder rate down in 6 months when it took 20 years to develop. Solving that is a generational thing. People don't quit killing just because a Mayor says "Stop."
ReplyDeleteDoes Mike Sanders talk about the problems in his family, starting with his gambling?
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny that Mayor Funkhouser's family was ridiculed at every turn, but Sly's dysfunctional brood is off-limits? Funny how that works. It's great being a minority in KC!!!
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT point.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 9:21. Just ask Carol Coe about when she asked for a "murder free month".
ReplyDeleteSo what about your nephew Adrian, Tony? Why not fill us in on where he went astray?
ReplyDelete----------------------------
A 20-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the Christmas Eve shooting of Joseph Jones, 22, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Adrian M. Botello, 20, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Robbery First Degree and two (2) counts of Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court documents, police found Pearson's body late Christmas Eve in the area of 24th and Denver, Kansas City. Police developed Botello as a suspect through witnesses. Botello confirmed that there was a plan to lure the victim to the convenience store and rob him. The victim was shot when he resisted the robbery.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000
Uhhhhh.. jones or Pearson.?
ReplyDelete9:39: First, I'm not sure what you mean by Sly's family being "off-limits," given that every Kyle's every move seems to make it at least to TKC. Second, it was mostly Gloria, the dysfunctional wife of the dysfunctional Funky that elicited ricidule. Being a wife who intrudes herself into an unelected position and costs the city at least $500K with her mouth is a tad different from Kyle, who is evidently a dysfunctional adult who is not involved in his father's administration.
ReplyDeleteNow, can we find something relevant to discuss?
Here's something relevant..that lawsuit was total bullshit...fuck mammy !
ReplyDeleteAdrian is not Tony's nephew. At best he's only his cousin but that's only because all Mexicans are cousins.
ReplyDeleteLittle Andy Funky is back.
ReplyDeleteNooooooooooooooooo
ReplyDeletegang of 8 strikes again for the mayor how many times is the kcpd going to protect this kid if it was a white boy he would have been in jail for dwi and assault
ReplyDeleteGod leave it alone.
