Tonight's opening kickoff for Kwanzaa at The Gem Theater was INSPIRING!!!
Seriously . . .
THIS YEAR'S KWANZAA CELEBRATION IN KANSAS CITY IS BETTER THAN EVER AND REALLY WORTH A LOOK!!! TKC WAS ON THE SCENE FOR THE FIRST NIGHT OF CELEBRATION!!!

My favorite part . . . The celebration started with a shout out back and forth with the audience as organizers elicited cries of "Umoja (Unity)" from the crowd.
CHECK OUT THIS SCHEDULE OF THE 30TH ANNUAL CITY-WIDE CELEBRATION OF KWANZAA AND CONSIDER ATTENDING SOME OF THESE AWESOME EVENTS!!!
The African Market in the Gem is a MUST SEE . . . And I really like the theme:
"Celebrating the International Year for people of African descent"
We'll enjoy more media reports later but TKC is glad to file the FIRST post from the scene. Natch.
DEVELOPING . . .
Wasn't Kwanzaa started by an FBI informant?
ReplyDeletestop snitchin yo!
Let the ugly, ignorant, racist comments begin.
ReplyDeleteI forget, how many shootings per night does Kwaaaanza call for?
ReplyDeleteWell yaaa.. why do you think he chose to bring this to attention? It's what he wants to happen
ReplyDeletekeeps him rolling
People are going to be racist. Fuck'em. That shouldn't stop pride in our community. All of KC's community.
ReplyDeleteI was too busy celebrating a real holiday, not a manufactured one, to attend. Sorry, maybe next year.
ReplyDelete8:55, what real holiday?
ReplyDeleteI work retail, and we cannot sell even one Kwanzaa decoration in the store. We gave them away last year to a charity, and they ended up giving them to anybody who would take them. Who cares about this? It is a 1960's throwback, meaning nothing. There is nothing in this holiday that is not incorporated in the traditional Christmas. How lame!
ReplyDeleteNo drums on Christmas. Fuck U.
ReplyDelete9:47, learn to use the internet. I'm not here to hold your hand through life. You'll figure it out, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Tony has come out of the closet. He's not a latino but he's really Fat Albert in disguise.
ReplyDeleteKwanza my ass. It sounds like some unused name for a Chevrolet or something. Just another bone thrown for the jigs so they won't feel so bad about being niggers...
ReplyDeleteA really great use for "Unity" would be to actually do some of the hard work to build cohesive neighborhoods that band together to curb some of the crime and violence that affect the east side.
ReplyDeleteIf you spend much time east of Troost, there's not a whole lot to be proud of or celebrate.
So how do the prinicples of Kwanza apply to everyday life?
Crigger Nistmas, LOL.
ReplyDeleteLET'S GO STEAL SUM NEW JORDENS!!!!!
ReplyDeletewhite people are some hateful people they feel like they should have everything that why the best will burn in hell
