The last remnants of a broken movement that never really amounted to much in Kansas City is now confined to the sidewalk . . . Kind of like most hobos.
"The Occupy KC group met with police officials at the Central Patrol Station on Wednesday to go over their plans for their march through downtown on Friday. The group hoped to march down the street, but they now have to stay on the sidewalks or risk being arrested."
Once again . . . We support their principals but lament their UNWILLINGNESS TO TAKE A STAND ON ANY KANSAS CITY SPECIFIC ISSUE . . .
Occupy KC Failed because . . .
Talk of drugs and prostitution and personal conflicts dominated their dirty little tent city . . .
The personalities of lead organizers who refused to take a leadership role couldn't maintain interest from the public . . .
It's not all their fault . . . Cable TV News moved on to different topics and with that most of their casual support evaporated.
TKC Life-Affirming Fact . . . Hobos and Hipsters prove to be just as tiresome as Tea Party housewives and Colonial costume wearers.
Developing . . .
The people are too big to fail.
ReplyDeleteOKC has never been anything more than a pitiful amateurish attempt at making believe they're OWC. If you talk to these folks, none of them has spent any time whatever becoming familiar with any issue or ideas and they have no real proposals or demands to make of anyone.
ReplyDeleteThis gang is not "the people".
this movement could have been so much more.
ReplyDeleteWe need new leadership here too.
When the Union came in...You see what happened...WE ARE ONE, HA!
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing seemed to begin unravelling when they did their march to Troost Park. At that moment, it became obvious that they weren't serious about the real OWS issues and were just going to be pawns for whatever Democrat special interest wanted to borrow a ready-made chanting mob.
ReplyDeleteThe Crowning Moment of Funny came when they protested an empty BofA branch (not a corporate office)...on a Saturday...after it had closed. That was "game over", honestly. They should have held a GA and fired themselves immediately afterward.
They were reduced to begging the city for a discount when all their funds were stolen for weed and they couldn't even get that; so now they get to meekly walk on the sidewalk like a dirtier bunch of lost FFA convention-goers. It's a beautiful day and they won't even scratch 200 marchers by their own estimate.
