Two charged in Poncho’s Mexican Foods robbery
A 18-year-old Kansas City woman and a 20 year-old Kansas City man have been charged in connection with the armed robbery of Poncho’s Mexican Foods, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Mishawn Coleman, 18, and Arlando Cody, 20, face Robbery First Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court documents, police were dispatched to a business robbery in the afternoon of December 28, 2011 at Poncho’s Mexican Foods, 3540 Main. Officers learned that 2 black males armed with a hand gun entered the restaurant, demanded money and left with $150.00. Witnesses observed the 2 black males enter a waiting car. The car was stopped a few hours later. Coleman admitted to being the get away driver for the robbery. Cody admitted to being armed with a handgun and committing the robbery at Poncho’s.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $100,000 for Coleman and a $150,000 bond for Cody.
