There is seemingly no stopping the local quotient of death and violence in Kansas City.
Check KCPD Crime Stats for totals on the increasing carnage . . .
Last year at this time KC totaled 104 homicides . . . 106 total for 2010.
In 2009, at this time KC counted 109 homicides . . . 110 Total.
NOW MORE THAN EVER IT'S TIME FOR VOTERS AND RESIDENTS TO CALL ON LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS TO FORMULATE A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO CURB THE MURDER RATE!!! STOPPING OS MANY HOMICIDES ON LOCAL STREETS SHOULD BE KANSAS CITY'S TOP PRIORITY IN 2012!!!
Unfortunately, so few folks who hold elected office want to take any responsibility for this ongoing tragedy and won't follow the lead of other cities that have reduced violence through a focused effort.

ReplyDeleteThe KCPD do a fine job. It is the prosecutors who drop the ball. PD can arrest everyone but if the prosecutors refuse to prosecute, what kind of incentive is it for PD to risk their lives? It is disheartening to try to work and then get no support from the judicial system. BTW, what was that white boy doing in that neighborhood?
ReplyDeleteWhite murder victim and there were NO black kcpd commanders on scene. Last week there was a black murder victim and a black major, black colonel, and black chief responded. Do you think people (including the police on the scene) dont notice that? It sends a clear message that the only homicide victims that are important are the black ones!

The 3rd & 5th District Council reps are trash. Cindy Circo; more like Cindy Jerko. Jermaine Reed... clueless in Seatle (and Kansas City); Melba Curls? Her goose is cooked and her chickens are coming home to roost. Should have been kind to the folks who gave her an unlimited pass. She's done little for Kansas City, the state. Not effective at all. Until, we get better representation and the people who vote for these quacks hold them accountable to being productive and a visionary; we'll continue with the same old 'ish! These clowns lack more than vision but I won't bother reviewing flaws... it's obvious the Kansas City Public likes losing.
