Once I got my filthy hands on it . . .
THE DRAMATIC HER KANSAS CITY FEATURE SPREADS ARE WORTH A PEEK!!! NO KIDDING, IT'S REALLY NICE THAT EVERYTHING IS LAID OUT IN ONE OPENING!!!
It's early but there's nothing exactly groundbreaking in the content just yet . . . But we all know it takes women awhile to get worked up . . . I can wait.
Still . . . The design, art and quality of the writing is both extremely professional and nuanced. The bigger print issue makes taking a look at this gimme rag a bit more of an experience than simply clicking through news online and that's really their only unique selling principle they can cling to at this early stage in the game. Extra credit to the good people @ Her Magazine because I didn't notice any douche commercials.
Dead Tree Media is going the way of the Dodo but that doesn't mean that these women can't look good while the economics of print media crumble around them.
DEVELOPING . . .
I guess if they're not accepting douche ads, we won't see TKC banners on their website?
ReplyDeleteYou praise the magazine but didn't even get the name right. My wife brought home a copy and I agree, it's a good looking magazine. Hope they succeed.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with you and the 1%
ReplyDeletePicked it up this weekend.
ReplyDeleteNot bad.
The magazine is actually Her Kansas City. Her Life is another more bland, Johnson Co publication.
ReplyDeleteThe cover by Peregrine is great!
