TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! PRESTIGIOUS TKC EDITORIAL COMMITTEE SELECTS KANSAS CITY'S TOP 5 UNDER 30!!!

Lists regarding Kansas City have dominated recent local news . . . But as usual, TKC is focused on the future and we're featuring the best list in town. Natch.

TAKE A LOOK AT KANSAS CITY'S MOST IMPORTANT YOUNG MOVERS AND SHAKERS ACCORDING TO OUR EDITORIAL COMMITTEE!!!

Re: The TKC Editorial Committee . . . This isn't just some ad hoc commission of my cronies. This collection of TRUSTED TKC Readers is bigger than the Bilderberg Group because they care about all things local and they're probably more important than you . . . I asked these folks for suggestions. Some had their picks others just clarified details but THESE TOP FIVE NAMES were approved by the committee with no objections. The ranking is a reflection of how often the Top 5 candidates were mentioned along with SCIENTIFIC analysis of all the relevant data.

Now check the list and some brief detail . . .

KANSAS CITY'S TOP 5 UNDER 30!!!

1. Katie Daily - Definitely worth watching. Ms. Daily faced stiff competition in the rather contentious recent Kansas City Council races where she worked as a consultant and campaign manager. Now, we hear she's working a rather sweet gig at The Greater KC Chamber Of Commerce. Ms. Daily has many talents and isn't afraid to voice strong opinions. Look for her to continue to shake things up in Kansas City.

2. Crispin Rea - This Kansas City School Board Member is one of the best and brightest this town has to offer. While continuing his work at The Mattie Rhodes Center he's also attending law school. Mr. Rea has been at the apex of Kansas City political power and worked closely with at least two Mayoral Administrations. More than hoping for big things from Mr. Rea, Kansas City is expecting major accomplishments from this young man.

3. Kemet Coleman - He's a rapper, community activist, businessperson, promoter and one of the brightest young people in Kansas City. Expect to see Mr. Coleman continue to display his many skills that helped to put our current Mayor in office.

4. Caleb-Michael Files - The youngest in this group still studies at UMKC along with a host of gigs and noteworthy participation in quite a few local political campaigns throughout the metro. Mr. Files has already earned a reputation as one of the most dedicated and committed campaign workers for the local Democratic Party. When we talk about hope for change in Kansas City, Mr. Files is one of the people dedicated to pushing that message forward.

5. Klassie Alcine - She's soon off to law school but has quite a few great plans in store for Kansas City before she starts. Ms. Alcine has already had local power brokers encourage her to run for office. She recently led UMKC student government to a more prominent role in local politics and has continued that work among the several local leaders and groups who seek her advice.

Again, this list is important because it's about the future and time will once again prove TKC right as these TOP 5 KANSAS CITY MOVERS & SHAKERS UNDER 30 will continue to lead this town.

  1. If it's not from Forbes, I don't care.

  2. If THEY are smart. They will move away from KC.

  3. Katie Daily - Smokin' hot.

  4. Only Crispin is providing any leadership so far.
If the rest have much of anything to say, they sure have been quiet. And other than how important you think they are, what particularly are they actually doing?

  5. Great list. It's good to see people who want to change Kansas City, not an easy task. I support them all the way.

  6. They sure enjoy the lime-light and talking about how great they are.

Not sure why people get off about these 40 under 40 and whatever the hell this list is.

Future empty suits are all I see.

  7. No white guys????

  8. Of course, no white guys. That would be racist....

  10. congrats to the people on the list. some of the above comments appear petty, but I am not at all surprised of their presence here; envy never sleeps.

still, these lists have their flaws and biases, and it seems that TKC believes that only those involved with city politics can be connoted as "movers and shakers." The creator of this list would do better to expand it to a wider compass by including some spiritual advisers, artists, athletes or academics who represent our city well and add to its culture. otherwise, the creator should rename this list "Top 5 under 30, involved with politics."

perhaps they should also explain what "scientific analysis" refers to. if the creator of this list means us to infer that they consider the simple act of counting votes as scientific, I pity them their intelligence. I wouldn't consider drawing names out of a cap scientific, unless one were testing the intelligence of a monkey.

on a more important note, if you, individual(s) who made this list, intend to follow it up with the underutilized option of "Top 5 biggest detriments to society under 30", might I suggest taking more care in selecting your parameters. (This means that taking pictures of 5 young mass murderers would not be very scientific, sorry.) Though I would suggest starting with politics again. Perhaps it would do well to add journalists.

by the bye, I agree with one of other comments. Katie Daily is hot.

  11. I've always wondered why there's never any consideration given to people who commit themselves to a career and are still able to do some of the same things listed above like volunteer in politics or charity.

The real achievers and 'go-getters' as you might describe them could blow these five out of the water.

These are the type of people that when they run for office, people say "That's great, but have you ever had a real job?"

  12. Crispin has worked with "at least two Mayoral Administrations?"

Tony I think you could have nailed it down a little tighter than that.

Now if you said, Crispin has been paid for at least 2 or more no work jobs with money extorted from County coffers by Chris Medina and his main bitch Theresa Garza, you would have been correct to fudge on the numbers.

That kid is an empty suit.

All liberals. Haven't liberals done enough to screw up this city? The city and the school district will continue to fail as long as liberals are in charge. But you can always look for Hope and Change, but all you will get is what you have right now. Nice that a guy who lives in his mom's basement is the decider of who are up-and-comers.

  16. .. if you're correct, and they are 'movers & shakers', they will be long gone from KC by age 35 ...

  21. This is the funniest joke I've seen all week. I can't believe I read this crap. No one on this list has made any real contributions. I know unemployment is high among people under 30 but can't they get real jobs? Social networking for yourself is not a job.

  22. Hey 5pm, if you're feeling that tough about Rea why don't you man up and email him your thoughts, I have his email from one of his cards : crea@kcmsd.net...No? Yeah good idea, stay anonymous.

Pretty interesting list, what about Alonzo, don't know how old he is, but seems like a young guy with his hand on the pulse of the hood.

    Bwahahahaha

  25. Funny, outside of Crispin, who are those other people. A real list would have real community leaders headed by Crispin on it. If you don't win anything it makes no difference.

  27. This is just TKC's opinion. Why all the negativity? Jealous and needing TKC's attention? Please.
