TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! THE TKC BOYCOTT AGAINST THE P&L DISTRICT IS WORKING!!! GENGHIS GRILL GOES DOWN!!!

I've gotta admit that I had never heard of Genghis Grill until 3 minutes ago . . .

However . . .

TKC IS TOTALLY TAKING CREDIT FOR THE LATEST P&L DISTRICT FAIL GIVEN THAT I'M SURE MY AMAZING AND AWESOME INFLUENCE BROUGHT DOWN YET ANOTHER OVERPRICED P&l OFFERING AND NOT THE GLOBAL RECESSION!!!

The headline . . .

Another restaurant in the KCP&L District is closing

What that headline doesn't reveal is that TKC has consistently called out the P&L District whether it's on racial or economic discrimination.

Why?

Because it's fun, it's the right thing to do AND they're funded with Kansas City taxpayer cash.

So, I can only hope the the P&L District becomes a place that's more welcoming to po'folk and minorities who comprise the tax base of this town footing the bill for the elitist hangout . . . Or maybe they start paying their own way.

DEVELOPING . . .

  3. Taking credit for something you had no impact on.

  4. I had totally forgotten about and failed to notice the so-called boycott.

  5. No one can predict where a bunch of 20 somethings will drink. So why do the clowns on the city council think they can?

  6. I had never heard of the place. Why would I go there instead of Ghengis Kahn on 39th?

  7. And every time a P&L District business goes down, the taxpayers have to pony up more to pay the TIF bonds. $12 million every year and counting.

  8. Tony, you are a complete asshole for reveling in the fact that a restaurant that employed a lot of Kansas Citians is closing. Also, your boycott is a joke. Like you.

  9. "This is all turning into an area where the only people feel invited and welcome are 21 and 22-year-olds and that doesn't really leave much room for the restaurants," - The owner.

I'm guessing that's the reason why they are closing. Not many hoods eatin' Mongolian BBQ!

  10. The Cordish folks who handle leasing don't give a damn about the restaurants they bring in. If they fail Cordish wins because their lease has them by the balls. Some of the Cordish people in KC try to help, but they usually get fed up and quit.

  11. mr anonymous Occupy T(KC)... you're an idiot. and a stupid one at that. do you realize your little tactic is making you look foolish? that's why you're stupid. you're an idiot because you keep doing it.

look, we already still have clay chastain, we don't need you to keep badgering us, too. just go away and "occupy" yourself.

  13. Why hasn't Sly James said anything about the possible loss of the Big 12 Tournament? I thought he was supposed to be working to keep business in KCMO?

  14. This was a local father, husband and business owner. The loss of the family business is devastating while Cordish owned businesses centered around the live block are flourishing.

  15. you are a fucking idiot if you think any boycott you are doing because you are too broke to afford eating at a nice place is doing a damn bit of difference. as far as im concerned pnl is better off without you and the ghetto trash its finally sweeping back out. fail.

  16. Power and Light District or Restaurant Graveyard District.
Nick Benjamin, stated. Genghis Grill was a weak link in the district. I beg to differ Power and Light District is Kansas cities weak link.
Remember: Bice, Teds Montana, Famous Daves, Chef Burger, Vinneo, Raaglan Road, The Peachtree, Savvy, the casualties continue. Genghis Grill, a weak link I say Zpower and Light District is the weak link.

The restaurants standing are supported by tax payer dollars or owned by Cordish and startegically placed around the live block to earn revenue.

Wake up Kansas City Cordish is the enemy!!
