A big change up for Monday . . . Score one for Council Dude Jim Glover who noted his objections to the appointment of his former opponent to the EDC . . .

On the bright side . . . This could be a rather diplomatic win for Mayor Sly.
Here's the damage:
Mayor James announces staff changes at Economic Development Corporation
EDC interim head is replaced by Assistant City Manager Bob Langenkamp
(KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI) --- Mayor James announced today that the Chairman of the Economic Development Corporation’s (EDC) Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Interim President/CEO John Crawford. Assistant City Manager Bob Langenkamp has been appointed to serve until a permanent replacement is found. “I would like to extend my thanks to John for his service to the city and EDC,” said Mayor James.
A nationwide search has been underway since August to find a new President/CEO of the Kansas City EDC. Candidates have been submitting materials for review, with an announcement planned within 60-90 days.
“I join the Board in thanking Bob for agreeing to serve in this capacity. After years of serving the city, Bob understands the EDC inside and out and will serve well in this interim role. As assistant city manager, Bob has been the city’s representative in business recruitment and retention efforts. I am sure he will serve us well as we complete the President/CEO selection process,” said Mayor James.
Mr. Langenkamp will continue serving as assistant city manager and will be on loan to the EDC for a short period of time.

ReplyDeleteDoes EDC have an independent Board of Directors or is it an extension of the Mayor's staff?
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to tell the difference 12:43. It's mostly the good old boys network with the board and staff.
ReplyDeleteWhy not just abolish it? Has it ever accomplished anything except give away taxpayer funds?
ReplyDeleteYou're all numbnuts.
