I've heard reports from ALL of these meetings and even peeked in at a few and for the most part NOBODY without some kind of political affiliation has taken a real interest . . . Also, The Star didn't even mention the 4th District meeting where just about everyone in the crowd spoke IN FAVOR of MAP-1 . . .
So, for better or worse . . . That's how your City Hall news is developed . . . Lesson for today: Objectivity in journalism is a myth that most grownups don't have the luxury of believing.

If by "just a small cadre of John Sharp friends" you mean 200 people at a redistricting meeting from School, City, County, and State representatives, as well as every single homeowner's association in South KC, well then yeah. It was pretty small. You know, the meetings you didn't bother to attend, Tony, so have zero firsthand knowledge of.
ReplyDeletetoo bad there isn't a reporter....a kcreporter (dot com!) ... who said he was going to start covering city hall and who Botello bragged about ... oh it was gonna be great, gonna be big time ... who didn't get his website launched on time again.
ReplyDeleteAs a Waldo resident, I think my neighborhood's got a whole hell of a lot more in common with the Fifth or Sixth districts than with Brookside and Midtown. It makes sense... the things that we need are the things that have been built out to our north like sidewalks and storm sewers. I, for one, welcome our Sixth District overlords.
