Some of the most AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS talk of a Wednesday night redistricting meeting among Council Dude John Sharp and some of his closest 6th District homies.

"A representative on the Redistricting Advisory Committee will talk about the new proposed boundaries which could adversely effect the 6th District. They are also complaining about no redistricting meeting in the 6th."
While most of the Redistricting process has been rather (self)congratulatory . . . Behind the scenes, insiders note that "of course John Sharp is making out that Ruskin and Hickman Mills is being shortchanged."
He might be advocating for his district OR maybe pushing his own agenda . . . Whatever the case, look for Council Redistricting to heat up as soon as it approaches the public meeting phase.
DEVELOPING . . .
Of course Sharp's people don't know what they are talking about. There is going to be a public hearing in the 6th District on October 18. There was one in the 6th last fall too, but none in the 2nd, 4th nor 5th Districts. Didn't hear the Ruskin, Hickman Mills whiners say anything back then when the current lines were drawn. Sharp's person on the committee submitted a map that is now on the City's website that does a masterful job of violating both the US Constitution's requirement for one person, one vote and the Voting Rights Act. The other map by John Fairfield is much superior for the interests of the entire City.
