One of the MOST AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS reports:
"Several people spoke in favor for the FIRST time of a Charter Amendment to place before voters before the next election in 2015 a change from 6/6 districts to either 9 and 3 and 8 and 4."
Check the audio/visual from KSHB.

ReplyDeleteAs long as we don't dilute the precious black vote. This city is all about the black man.
ReplyDeleteWe should have 445,000 council districts, just to make it fair.
ReplyDeleteYou can cut up a pile of horse manure any way you want and it's still a pile of horse manure.
ReplyDeleteAnd then keep electing idiots who don't have a clue about government and are only interested in how they can help their friends and move on to their next paid elected jobs.
SOS
THIS IS ALL ABOUT JOHN SHARP'S KNOW NOTHING FELLOW TRAVELERS WANTING A LITTLE DISTRICT OF THEIR OWN OUT IN HICKS VILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT. SHARP IS LOSING THIS RE-DISTRICTING FIGHT IN A BIG WAY.
ReplyDeletefuck, I agree with all of these points.
ReplyDeleteWe should have 12 at large districts!
ReplyDeleteJohn Sharps campaign team.

ReplyDeleteCouncil members would have to live closer to the people who elected them, and because they wouldn't represent so many people) they would be more visible and should be more available.
What happened years ago that changed it is over, this is 2011, not 1961!
12 at large.
ReplyDeleteIf the east side keeps emptying out as quickly as it is now, pretty soon the only person who will live there will be the councilmember representing the Third District.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's what Rev Miles means by one man, one vote!
