At this point, Jordan Carver slowly taking off her skivvies after dark is far more interesting than the CITY HALL POLICY DEBATE THAT MIGHT NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF PERCEPTION ON THE PLAZA!!!
Still . . . Politicos chasing away younger customers and their parents in an effort to crack down on African-American teens is nothing new for this town.
Check the links and Channel 2 . . . You'll see confidence in Kansas City's retail economy slowly floating away like all of the cash recently evaporated in the stock market.

It will work if they do it right.
ReplyDeletenot a chance.
ReplyDeleteThe City Council is comprised of self-serving cowards, as opposed to Statesmen-Leaders. They ALL lack the courage to say that the geographic concentration of ignorance on the proximate East Side of the Plaza needs to be dismantled, and it's population disbursed away from the only remaining economic icon Kansas City has left.
ReplyDeletePeople with money will avoid the Plaza, and Plaza merchants will move to Kansas.
Question: If a friend invited you to dinner on the Plaza this Saturday night, would you go? I wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteBoy that Gwen Grant...she is one ugulay dude.
ReplyDeleteI think that might be clinton adams in drag.
OK I am going to have to agree on one aspect of 2:21's comment. The concentration of ignorance is staggering on the east side. Particularly with their representation on city council.
ReplyDeleteNow it is impossible to "dismantle it."
If Jordan wants to eat on the Plaza this weekend, we're eating on the Plaza!
ReplyDeleteBut we sure won't be going to see a movie at the Cinemark.
First we had to watch Sly, the old revs, and 79 year-old Al Brooks as they walked aorund the Plaza trying to rap with the young people and ended up is the bushes. Now we have to listen to Gwen Grant. Next it will be Tindall, Bachuus, Hunt, and Carol Coe.
ReplyDeleteWhen are officials in KCMO ever going to realize that none of these people represent anyone on the east side and are responsible for much of the disaster that has occured there over the last couple decades. They are sel-appointed leaders who have done nothing but look out for themselves and their friends financially and have no other interest in the community whatever. And the young people involved have never even heard of them.
Message to city hall AND the black community: It's not 1967 any more, the days of victimization and entitlement are over, you can't blame whitey or anyone else for your problems, and you've let these deadbeats and grifters take advantage of you long enough.
There is some real leadership on the east side, if official KCMO just had the guts to stop pandering to the old gang and listen to what the young people have to say. They'd find you hear words like responsibility, hard work, competition, and success.
Somebody give Brooks a gold watch and let him disappear.
Suck it up, Sly. Your Marine buds wouldn't even recognize you!
dem niggas done GOOFED!!!!
ReplyDeleteCoes the only one telling it like it is.
ReplyDeleteShe said the times call for more drastic measures than when she introduced the curfew plan 20 years ago.
"Kids are different today. They'll curse you. They'll attack you," she said.
See it, study it, think about it, absorb it. Because she is right.
The city will fail to make any meaningful headway with this problem and the business community will suffer. I will not be patronizing the Plaza.
ReplyDeleteTime to move out of this city.
The truth is you have Jackson county come and write a grant for you to get anti crime drug money Carol, isnt that how you do it, call Stacy. That will prevent crime in Kansas city, isnt that why we collect county wide tax.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Jordon Carver, wow!!!
