KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY JAMES' SON AND THE EMBARRASSING P&L DISTRICT RUCKUS!!! "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!"

This came up in the comments yesterday, and now it's news . . . There probably isn't anything more messed up to blog tonight:

"Kansas City police handcuffed Mayor Sly James’ adult son after he allegedly caused a disturbance and refused to pay his bill at a Power & Light restaurant early Saturday.

A police report alleged that Kyle C. James, 22, told the officer who handcuffed him that he would have him fired . . . James allegedly repeatedly asked the officer if the officer “knew who he was” before identifying himself as the mayor’s son, the report said . . .

He told me he could have my job anytime he wanted,” the officer wrote in his report. “He told me that when I woke up tomorrow, he would have me fired. He advised he could buy and sell me whenever he wanted."

The Statement From The Mayor:

“My son is a 22 year old young man who made a mistake. He is extremely embarrassed and very sorry for the entire incident.” –Mayor Sly James

  1. Who is he?

  2. If you have to ask "do you know who I am?", they either don’t know or they don’t care.

    ReplyDelete
  3. What a fucking idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  4. See, sometimes police brutality is justified. Sounds like we have another spoiled democrat child running around the City. If this story is true and confirmed by witnesses and Sly has ANY integrity at all...he will march that little creep right to police headquarters and make him apologize in person.

    ReplyDelete
  5. This mayor is on his way out! If he cant handle his kids, how can he handle a city?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Kemet was with him Tony. There's your KC Rap for you.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm sure Sly and said son will be having a "come to Jesus" talk. It's the Billy Carter syndrome, where loser relatives of people who have made it in life think they are entitled to special treatment.

    ReplyDelete
  8. TKC, did you notice that the manager of the restaurant paid the bill!! I hope the mayor does the right thing and have the son pay the manager back.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Didn't Wayne Cauthen pull that "do you know who I am" shit with KCPD when he first rolled into town.

    ReplyDelete
  10. It doesn't sound like that little bastard was raised right.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Last thing you want to say to the police (besides fu*k you!) is do you know who I am?

Because if your causing problems they don't give a sh*t who you are your going downtown.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sly James issued a statement to The Star today that said, “My son is a 22-year-old young man who made a mistake. He is extremely embarrassed and very sorry for the entire incident.”

    I would hope so.

  13. Funk wins.

  14. This will be interesting to follow, because if this punk does not go to jail, and we all know if we did what he did we would be in jail....sheeple watch this one, you might learn how politics in this city work, the son of the mayor knows all to well how entitlement works...lets see what happens...hey we can put lcd tvs above your feeding trough! baahhhh

    ReplyDelete
  15. sounds like when Beth berated the officers that pulled her over on suspicion of driving while impaired...right after her election

    ReplyDelete
  16. Mayor James' son has made the best argument I have heard yet to keep state control of KCPD.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Maybe this is why Sly wants city control...so the PD learns to leave his son alone.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If the police department was under city control the officer would have been fired that same day.

KC is guaranteed an outside chief now!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Truly shameful. This "man" is 22 and his Daddy has to make the statement for him?

    Fucking chickenshit punk!

    Daddy should:

    1. Make his son tell him who committed the dine and dash.
    2. Take his son back to the restaurant to apologize personally and say who stole the food.
    3. Take his son to the PD and make him personally apologize to the officer.
    4. Let his son spend some time in jail for disorderly conduct.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wait a minute! How did a black kid get past the financial profiling and the dress code?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Reminds me of the airport when Gloria parked the Toyota Corolla illegally, and was yelling at the officers: 'I will have you fired. Do you know who I am?' Glad they are gone.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hey dumbass 8:15; funk wins nothing and thank god for that! If Sly and his whole family stay drunk for the entire next four years they will still be doing better than the ultra-pathetic funk clan.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Time for the recall petitions.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Keep STATE CONTROL!!!

  25. Sly is on his way out!!! whats the difference between sly drama and funk drama? we need a mayor that comes in that has no drama, a mayor we elected to what we elected him or her to do....so far we get mayors who bring in personal shit, so fuck sly, fuck funk, when are we going to wake up and elect someone who can actually make a difference in this city? guess what it will never happen...history always repeats itself. so what you see, and what you have seen is what you , and all you will ever get!

    ReplyDelete
  31. its not about a black mayor, if you remember we had a white mayor that fucked up the shit that this new mayor has to deal with, he wont handle business and make all the wrongs right, but white or black he would make a great volunteer in a nursing home...I dont think sly is a bad guy, but he cant run a city, and thats apparent!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Come on sheeple speak up!!! we all know you have the internet and post on here!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well he's living up to his nickname anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  34. what, you selling out your wool ?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm sort of disappointed he didn't claim to be your son :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. 9:33 you lost us whats the nickname?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Maybe he's worn out from chasing ambulances and figures Mayor would be a nice break and vacation.

    ReplyDelete
  38. With only 21 percent of the City's registered voters voting, James defeated Burke by 54 percent to 46 percent.

Kind of helps explain things a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Right 80% of registered voters not showing up certainly doesn't help anything.

    ReplyDelete
  40. No one chases ambulances in KC, most KC citizens never believed they would ever need a ambulance, that is why KCFD now has a (acclaimed) stellar service, yet bogus response times Brought to you by the people of (MAST) hijacked by(kcfd and local 42), if you have a medical emergency in KC you are as good as dead!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Kyle James: "Don't you know who I am?"

KCPD: "Yeah. You're the asswipe that tried to start a fight at four in the morning and then tried to run out on your bill."

  42. Oh Sly, its 10:00 do you know where your kids are.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Who the hell does he think he is? His fat daddy has only been in office a few months. Listen up kid the tax payers in this town will not put up with your Shit. You better figure this one out early. You don't own this town, BITCH.

Do you know who I am?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah, you're the son of Smedley Parkhurst III

    ReplyDelete
  46. What kid that is 22 hasn't messed up at some point. Give him a break. Wouldn't have been news if pops wasn't the Mayor. And doesn't sound like Sly is defending his behavior at all. Calm down haters.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Do I know who I am?

    ReplyDelete
  48. That bitch stole my line.

Doesn't HE know who the FUCK I AM?

    I'M THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH!

    ReplyDelete
  49. yea, you are a dumb fucker.

    ReplyDelete
  50. This wasn't a one-time "mistake." The story said the officer had warned the punk about similar behavior on two previous occasions. That's a pattern of a-hole.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Unless the son apologizes to the police officer in person he is a piece of shit. The reason some youths have problems...accountability.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sly is a 1 termer at this rate.

    ReplyDelete
  53. wrong. It was his son. It could be worse. He could have his stupid son making policy like Funkhouser.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was a mayor's son once. Small time. But I got every accomodation possible. Valet service from the cops after a night of overindulgence. Fuck you little people that merely want to be important. News flash -YOU'RE NOT!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Is arrogance learned, or is it inherited?

    ReplyDelete
  56. This kid is a grown man. Daddy shouldn't be expected to 'make' him do anything at 22 and he sure as hell shouldn't be apologizing for him.

My only problem with the Mayor in this is that his statement wasn't "Sonny is 22, he can pay for his screw-ups just like anybody else."

The boy stepped on his dick here, not the Mayor. Sly shouldn't be judged for a grown son who is obviously an asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Sly raised him, or not. He's the product of his fathers teachings. Unlike most of the important inner city youth his father was present, so this has some bearing on the mayors leadership abilities since he apparently never taught his son any manners.

    ReplyDelete
  58. NO one stated the obvious, here. The mayor's adult son *believes in slavery.* "I can buy and sell you anytime I want..." he said. What a racist, enslavement statement.
Beyond that, it's nice to see the men in blue covering up and handling with kid gloves one of their own, bosses family. Anyone else would have been separated and arrested, beaten, humiliated, and had MULTIPLE violations trumped up and been in jail till a court hearing.

    Disgusting!

    ReplyDelete
  59. 7:13 & 2:54: Have you ever had kids? For crying out loud, you can't be responsible for everything they do in their 20s--or their teens, even.

    Get a grip.

    ReplyDelete
  60. This came up in the comments yesterday, ........... Cops dropping dimes on the Mayor because they dont like him.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The Mayor did the right thing. Mr. Mayor it may be time to have a new tradition in the James home. I think the Marines would be good for the young man. Keep up the good work. Semper Fi.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It is not the Mayors fault but it is an embarrassment for him. Your children's behavior reflects on your parenting skills like it or not. James needs to do whatever he can to keep the kid out of the public eye. Maybe find him a job elsewhere if all else fails. It is an unneeded distraction.

    ReplyDelete
  63. maybe we all should go down and order food and then not pay just to see if the manager pays the bill and we go free also that will happened when hell freezes over

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hey Paul. It's up to the victim(owner of Frans) to press charges. It's not up to the Police. There was no cover up. We don't run to the media as an organization and say "look what the Mayors son did". The mayor wasn't there that night. If there was public humiliation it was brought upon by himself. Plus it's hard to whoop ass I. Someone and not get in trouble eith so many witnesses. Plus the the officer involved had been on atleast 15 years. Somethings aren't worth getting fired over. You sound like a bitter old man by some of the comments you made.

    ReplyDelete
  65. A not insignificant underlying issue here is that anyone would consider someone 22 a "kid".

I would further note that if Kyle doesn't offer a public apology today to all involded, and make rstitution, you can kiss off Sly's chances of doing anything positive for the city; the wolves sniffing around city hall will rightly understand that if Sly can't motivate his own to son to proper behavious, the city council will soon be out of his control as well.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Paul is an idiot. He shows it from time to time when he comments on this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I consider someone who is 22 a kid. Who amongst us knows 1 22 year old with a lick of sense?

    ReplyDelete
  68. The mayor apologizes for his 22 year old son like he's a kid? No, that would be a 15 year old. A 22 year old adult should be held responsible whether he's 22 or 62.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Mayor Sly is the farthest thing from a black man.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I don't agree, Paul, that the kid was racist... that may well be a racist remark known to many blacks for it was very likely said to many in their history.

IT's only an epithet in the black culture, I'd wager.

Even so, nothing wrong with your position...as you say, you speak youre mind while it's still legal to do so (from your profile). I applaud you for exercising that right, even if not always right.

ANd thanks for using your handle in here. Wish more people had one or two.

As to the kid, well as I mentioned in the later post, this isn't an ongoing controversy. And it's clear there's a thin line between teen and twenty somethign when it comes to maturity.

Luckily, most grow out of it if they can avoid pregnancy, jail, or overdose until they do.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sly & his piece of shit son need to fucking retire. Fuck these guys. Impeach the bastard now!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Kansas City deserves better than the Sly family.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I was the General Manager of a The Daily Record, a multi-million dollar local newspaper, when I was 23.

So I know plenty of 22 and 23 and 24 year old people who are capable of handling themselves in a professional manner.

The 22 year old children I have known are those who are always running to mommy and daddy when they need protection.

Big difference between men and boys here. Men take care of themselves, boys hide behind daddy (or mommy, or both).

    ReplyDelete
  74. Here we go. Sly and the Family Bone. Someone, anyone, please get this asshole and take him out. Otherwise, KC will CERTAINLY being hearing from this nigger, punk again and again....

    ReplyDelete
  75. If the lad is reading the comments he begins to realize that his behavior reflects more on himself and his big ego, but his family, the city, and yes, he even represents his race demographic.

For of the son of a mayor is still an asshole, good for nothing, then its really not about poverty and bad upbringing at all. Lets face it, obama he'll never be.

Sorry dad, all our kids can't turn out well. Better yours than mine!

    ReplyDelete
  76. dat nigga boy needs he head busted open so he kan see de lite! he will den no he be nuthing but a stuoopid smart ass nigga.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Not bitter, but still not used to being called an "old man." LOL getting there, at 52.
Just a bit more focused, in these times we live in...where some Americans are given rights/privileges/authorities over other EQUAL Americans. It's not *freedom.* It's free-dumb. There is not ONE citizen in this country who has more value or entitlement than any other, for any reason. What you do, who you are, or how popular, political, or well off you are *should* not matter.
But it does. And that's free-dumb, in the society we've lived, fought, (and far to many) died for.

  81. And the people wonder why the P&L Disrict wants to keep these savages out.....

    ReplyDelete
  82. If he is old enough to get into the KCP&L district and drink, he is old enough to make his own public apology.

And he should get off of the steroids. They aren't helping his attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Lots of soldiers, cops and firemen are 22. They aren't kids. The difference is that they work for a living and did not have things given to them.

    ReplyDelete
  84. It seems to me that the Mayor's son is an arrogant little chit that needs to learn what it means to keep one's mouth shut and to not embarass one's relatives, especially a dad who is the current Mayor who is already not so well-received and in need of future voter support for the next upcoming election.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Message body

I think the mayor could save face by giving his son an ultimatum: do some deserving volunteer service work in the community or forego a car, travel expenses, allowance, computer games or whatever his addiction currently may be. That will also send a message that he is very fortunate to have the opportunities that the father has provided for him already. And, the arrogant nature of the son is really going to hurt him on the job market. Or, is his father planning to support him and his lifestyle forever?
