tony,
ReplyDeleteI'm a white older guy who loves most of what you do. Damn, I didn't know I was different until I was in college.
that is my caveat.
I have a friend in the Corp of Engineers who says the congressional mandate they have is for barge traffic on the Missouri. Not recreation or flood control. Until congress changes their mandate all the Corp can do is manage or mismanage Mother Nature to provide a navigable waterway. Congressman are much more interested in sound bites and face time.
Hey,
check it!

Hey word is in a new director is coming for the Water Dept.!
ReplyDeleteTony,
ReplyDeleteNot saying this is not a problem.
But, what northeastern or midwestern "big city" does not have 100 year old water line infrastructure that is breaking quite often?
Kansas City has alot of COMMON inner city decay problems. You think St. Louis and Cleveland don't have lots of water main breaks? This web site often makes it sound like Kansas City is a unique national screw up. How you ever been to the ghettos of the Great Lakes cities?
There are sink holes causing streets to cave in downtown. Near 8th and Main, 7th and Broadway, 7th and Central. Crews out working all weekend, water gushing down the street, and no water available indoors. We passed an E Tax and pay to live in this town - fix the dang infrastructure. The new Mayor needs to address this issue and the City needs to quit putting it off year after year.
ReplyDelete2:41 the government in Kansas City is a screw up, that's why things here are so screwed up. I don't think anyone cares about the correlation between KC and other cities, I think people who live here just want things to be better.
ReplyDeleteObama is against funding infrastructure. That is a fact.
ReplyDeleteClaire is against funding infrastructure. That is a fact.
ReplyDeleteThe etax has nothing to do with the water department. They are an enterprise fund.
