Nobody in Kansas City is as strong as Candice Swanepoel looking all hot in her Victoria's Secret Workout gear. But these local people did their best . . .
POLITICOS
1. Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker - She's cleaning house, suspending lawyers and looking to make the first real change at the County.
2. MO Rep. Jason Kander - Word is out, he's the next Missouri Secretary of State.
3. Theresa Garza Ruiz/Crystal Williams - The County Reformers have usurped Exec. Mike Sanders.
4. Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Circo - She's always winning as of late and NOBODY even questions her late night dinners.
5. Council Dude Scott Wagner - We can call a new CID progress instead of just more taxes but he's a Northland dude running rather great branding without saying much.
NEWSIES
1. Russ Ptacek - He took apart the Clay County Auditor in spectacular fashion this week with some rather gully investigative journalism.
2. Nick Haines - I never realize how strong his show was and how many people followed it, until today . . .
3. Katie Horner - The ousted newsie earned a prize on her way out.
4. Dan Weinbaum - His Weatherby Lake story went viral this week in a big way.
5. Kris Ketz - Your Twitter Friend And Mine!!!
ALTERNATIVES TO THE P&L DISTRICT
1. The Plaza - Flash Mobs are always more fun.
2. Westport - Where the illusion of safety isn't so pronounced.
3. Your Mom's Basement - Surprisingly cool.
4. Last Run Fringe Fest Shows - Support local performance art that doesn't require a fake bake and cover charge.
5. Netflix - Stop complaining about the higher fees, there is no other entertainment other than the Internets.
As always, this list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people.
THe mail order Netflix isn't worth the new price.. not for 2 movies a week. I'm going to drop the DVD service.
ReplyDeleteNetflix will go under as sooon as Time Warner and Comcast slap a dollar surcharge on downloaded movies from third party renters. And they WILL because of the bandwidth required for movies. Netflix is, after all, a competitor getting a free ride on the cable companies. They wont' stand for it much longer.
You forgot Mary Sanchez, for showing us the real Tony.
ReplyDeleteSo Kander is going to challenge another Democrat in a primary?
ReplyDeleteAll the power news thats fit for morons.
ReplyDeleteThat boycott thing is working pretty good. All the trash is gone!
ReplyDeleteBrillant work Tony!
Boycott the Plaza T! Needs a good cleaning!
ReplyDeleteNick Haines because he was nice to me unlike those other bastards at KCPT.
ReplyDeleteBoycott Westport while your at it Tony overdue a scrub job.
ReplyDeleteAll the trash is gone! 8:56 PM
ReplyDeleteThe only really reliable law of history is the Law of Unintended Consequences.
Radioman stick with what u know. Nothing!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery service on cable companies that provide internet is a third party.
ALL companies that stream video. YouTube Netflix etc.
ALL companies that stream video. iTunes pandora etc.
Or maybe you'll understand this.
ALL companies that stream PORN!!
Cable companies aren't going to punish companies that provide content. They need each other. These are the most popular services on the Internet without them it makes it harder to charge 50 bucks a month for Internet.
9:32 PM your dreaming thats obvious you'll be waking up soon though.
ReplyDeleteSo what is this the Internet takes the weekend off now? When did this start?
ReplyDeleteI am going to go with Living in your Mom's basement, works for me and the wife. Of course we are looking after the elders in the family.
ReplyDeleteJackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker - She's cleaning house, suspending lawyers and looking to make the first real change at the County.
ReplyDelete(and looking like a pixie-hottie doing it)
When is Gone Mild going to return to his power-broker status?
ReplyDeleteRadioman.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. But, is 9:32 right?
Or wrong?
I pay 2 to 4 bucks for Movies on Time Warner now.
I didn't make it up.. Cable companies want more money...especially from people who watch movies they themselves don't surcharge.
ReplyDeleteI presume they like the monopoly on their on demand services and are beefing them up... they want Netflix out of business. Or else they want a piece of the action.
Especially since the cost of increasing bandwidth on all their switches and lines is so expensive.
LIke phone companies. They had to spend a huge amount of money when people quit using their phones for the 3 minute average...and bought modems on those same lines.
Guess you don't remember when you couldn't get service temporarily when every asshole bought a 2400 bd modem and used it all evening. Telecoms fixed those inadequate trunk lines fairly quickly, but at great cost.
Cable's the same position. They want more money from bandwidth hogs and will start a teired service. Its already begun in some markets. I'm sure netflix is paying plenty to get their products ON the system...but Time Warner wants to get a cut from people taking it OFF.
MY critic here just doesn't read as much nerdy stuff as I do. He's into that PORN, I guess. The only porn I see is on TKC.
Flash Mobs on the Plaza?!? I thought Mayor Pro Tem Circo was going to take the lead on that issue over a year ago! What has she done about it?!? NOTHING!!! With leadership like this, I hope she does go to the Jackson Co! Maybe she'll take Local 42 with her. fuckin' worthless bitch.
ReplyDeleteMike has trouble now ,no where to go Kander is running for Sect of State ,Sly is Mayor, Cleaver is not going anywhere and Victor is coming home Bye Bye Mikey.
ReplyDeleteMary Sanchez opinions are irrelevant ...unless she is throwing a temper tantrum
