Cameron Diaz atop a muscle car is the best way to clean up this week and note Kansas City's most powerful people . . . Check it:
POLITICOS
1. Local 42 - This Union runs Kansas City politics, after their pay raise amid The Kansas City recession
2. Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Circo - She voted to give her household a raise this week without much thought about a conflict of interest. That's a powerful statement about her confidence.
3. Mayor Sly James - Another smart week for Kansas City's Mayor as he avoids controversy, makes people smile and extends his honeymoon as long as possible.
4. John Crawford - New at the EDC, look for this former City Council Candidate to step up his profile and local economic development.
5. Troy Schulte - He's cleaning house and taking names and might be Kansas City's last, best hope to restore faith in City Services.
NEWSIES
1. Eric Burke - WDAF newsie who wasn't afraid to file an objective report on the P&L District Ruckus.
2. Hey Cameraman - Great pics, podcasts and updates from one of Kansas City's tech leaders.
3. Darla Jaye - Kansas City's Queen of Talk Radio isn't afraid to debate the opposition.
4. Kris Ketz - Early Morning, On Twitter and all over Kansas City airwaves with the latest news.
5. Tess K. - She's always filing AWESOME stories and we'll talk more about her latest, important work in just a bit.
KANSAS CITY NEW HOTNESS
1. Fear of the heat - Newsies make my (mom's) basement seem even safer.
2. Finding some place local to party rather than supporting discriminatory corporate welfare FAIL. - Think about it, only the really lame and nasty people support no questions asked corporate welfare.
3. Pregnant news ladies - Mental note: Female newsies obviously like to get it on in the Fall.
4. Keeping Up With The Kansas City Homicide Count - No matter who we blame for the ongoing bloody disaster, we're all keeping track.
5. Cool, tasty beverages - Anything but water.
As always, this list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a (mostly) weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people.
Drink water.
ReplyDeleteBurke doing something objective? What he did NOT do was establish what the community is saying about the P&L. He only established what YOU said that that moment before the camera.
ReplyDeleteNot EVEN objective. He should have asked some people who paid their fare to get in. And maybe some standing outside after hearing the bad news.
That would have taken a bit of effort but it was too hot for him and Phil, right?
radio u jealous.
ReplyDeleteJealous of that story? I don't think so. That wasn't journalism. That was filling time between commercials.
ReplyDeleteAnd then the gratuitous liveshot. Nope. I put in my time and my worst day working was better than that. They just don't give em enough time to do a decent job.
They should have held the story for a day, shot interviews it at night, skipped the live shot and put together a good story for the next night. Pointless liveshots because the manual says always do liveshots whether theyre important or not.
you don't notice the networks wasting airtime with them, do you?
It didn't used to be this way but today's tv managers are still in love with their 1980s microwave technology. Liveshots are cheap... they eat airtime. Watching today's local news is about as filling as eating a tv dinner.
nobody wants to interview radio man. also fuck you Tony.
ReplyDeleteI hear there is a tornado watch 2 days out..... Cut to the live shot
ReplyDeleteNow power commentors... Been working my ass off.....
ReplyDeleteHow do you dipshit pro e-tax voters feel now?
ReplyDeleteSly will save us!
ReplyDeleteLooks mighty shopped.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe Circo thinks it's ethical to vote a pay raise in for her highly-compensated hubby. Her arrogance is appalling. So is her stupidity.
ReplyDeleteGod Damn it. I was the FIRST in the electronic media to pick up on the P&L boycott story and I didn't make the God Damned power rankings? Shit, Tony... If I need to make sweet love to you to make the list, I'll do it. Not sure what else you want from me!
