So, we all know that Theresa Garza Ruiz has her eyes focused on the Jackson County Executive job.
And there's no doubt she has made some rather significant political wins this week . . .
However, check a FRIGHTENING JACKSON COUNTY SCENARIO FROM A TKC TIPSTER that could leave Garza Ruiz out in the cold.
I've highlighted the most important passages . . .

Under the new County Charter that voters passed a year ago, if the Executive vacates the office (like Sanders would do if he runs and is elected to a statewide office in 2012) he is allowed to pick his own replacement for up to 30 days. Then the Legislature picks the permanent replacement until the 2014 election. But the Executive gives his pick a running start at getting the nod from the Legislature.
So that person would have the advantages of the incumbent in the 2014 Democratic primary.
Cindy Circo is quietly lining up support to run for County Executive. I do not think she would oppose Sanders if he runs again in 2014. But would run if the seat is vacant.
The question is this---would Sanders, if he wins statewide office next year, pick Circo as his replacement ? The answer is evidently YES.
Garza Ruiz is odd woman out. The County folks are even more bitter about her because they believe her husband is undermining Mike Sanders with Mayor James.

This stuff is a bit in the future and nobody knows that the political landscape will be in a couple of years . . . Nevertheless, as always TKC TIPSTERS are correct in noting that political friends today could easily oppose each other in the future while KANSAS CITY POLITICAL POSITIONING is always in effect.

ReplyDeleteThe part about Genaro is particularly true. The belief is that he is engaged in political attacks on County officials both through his City office and other political means -- like pimping Tony with trash stories about people who work at the County.
He has also been shopping fraudulent stories about Henry Rizzo's wife in a personal attack.
These actions are actually hurting Theresa, Genaro and by extension Mayor James with people who were ready to work with them on policy issues.
Either Cindy Circo or Victor Callahan will run in order to keep Theresa out of the County Execuitves Office, if it comes open. Theresa cannot defeat either of them.

I guess that makes her a political genius, to get that one passed.
Cindy Circo could never put the Votes together to stay in the job with the legislature,neither could Theresa.

ReplyDeleteThey are looking for houses very close to where Cindy Circo lives, which means that if Cindy is County Exec, Theresa could run for the 5th District at large seat on KC Council. Then Theresa and Genaro could car pool together like Funk and Gloria, and she could approve pay raises for him whenever she needed some cash.

ReplyDeleteI think you all are filth to make such comments about a person's physical build. Yes, Theresa is a large woman but itis not her fault. It is not like she chooses to be large. She has had an eating disorder dating back to her time in the Navy when she suffered through several abortions. That kind of thing stays with a woman and it is not uncommon that someone who suffered like that would have a lingering problem with eating and self-image. But filth like you cannot leave people alone. You are all bottom feeders who do not deserve to live in the same world as good people. The next time you feel like putting a comment on here that picks on a person's looks, do the right thing and buy a shot gun, load it, put the barrel end in your mouth and pull the trigger.
