One of the most AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS advised us to take a look at Mayor Sly's latest campaign finance report. It was really interesting and I only regret not doing it sooner along with the fact that I wish I had an iPad so I could have read it on the toilet.
To wit . . .
TAKE A LOOK AT ALL OF MAYOR SLY'S NEW FRIENDS WHO GAVE HIM A LOT OF MONEY!!!
A great many of these donations come from Mayor Sly's big-ass fundraiser at Boulevard Brewery that TKC covered EXCLUSIVELY!!!
Still, so many of the donors and their big checks are noteworthy . . . Look up the whole thing for yourself on the MEC website, I've simply highlighted some of my favorites:
For this period Mayor Sly raised about $160k in cold, hard cash!!!
Let's start with Bruce Allender Black & Veatch -- Director of Biz Development who cut a check for $1,000
Ameristar Casino - $1,000
Jeffery Anthony McCarthy Auto Group CFO gave $1,000
JEFF ROE'S AXIOM STRATEGIES CONTRIBUTED $1,000 TO MAYOR SLY!!!
Hush Blackwell Sanders and Polsinelli Shughart lawyers donated en masse with dozens of individual contributions for about $250 piece along with a few $1,000 dollar checks.
Kay Waldo Barnes could only come up with $200 but that's because she's retired.
Jeff City Carpenters for Sound Legislation - $1,500
Burns & McDonnel have donated $4,000 to date to Mayor Sly and made with another $1,000 donation for this latest report.
Boulevard Brewing Company donation to Mayor Sly is impressive to me because most of the time I'm sending my money their way . . . They have donated $3k total with a $1,000 check this report.
Cambridge Consultants also maxed out at $3,000 for this report
Terrance Dunn J.E. Dunn -- Chief Executive $1,000

Awww, Tim Kristl could only muster up a tiny $250
Steve Glorioso wasn't in a giving mood either with just a $250 donation as well
Hallmark Cards sent their VERY BEST and maxed out with a $3,000 contribution!!!
Kansas City Power and Light Company shines with $3,000
And then the KCP&L Power PAC turned on their heartlight with another $3,000

Pat Gray Cambridge Consultants -- $2,897 this report
KC Biz PAC - $3,000
ACM Executive Gerry Lopez only coughed up $500 . . . Maybe a good sign or a going away present.

So, as the Great Recession moves forward . . . It's nice to see Mayor Sly not only is ROLLING IN CASH but his homies EVERY IMPORTANT LAWYER IN KANSAS CITY and supporters are awash in money to support Kansas City's Mayor.
That's a lot of cashy.
ReplyDeleteDetroit, here I come.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that you can get so much from an office holder for donating peanuts to his campaign.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a huge "more bang for your buck" proposition.
This goes for every politician....Giving $$$ and gifts to politicians should be illegal.
ReplyDeletePoliticians should not get favors from lobbyists.
It clouds the politicians thinking.
Who really gives a shit what Jeff (Fat Fuck) Roe does about anything? Maybe his fatship should consider representing the Governor of New Jersey, Fatty Fuck Christie? What a couple of pant loads that would be!!!
ReplyDeleteSwope Community Fuckers - Should be spelled - I don't pay my other bills - GATSON. (DATSON-OF-A-BITCH)
ReplyDeleteIs the influence peddling, yep, has been the way for years, no conflict of interest can come from it, RIGHT!
ReplyDeleteJeff Roe????!!! Donovan Mouton???!!
ReplyDeletePlease.
It's obvious Sly is bought and paid for. Too bad he fooled a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteMoney always turns good intentions bad, Sly didn't take long to sell City Hall. Let face it all those who gave him money ,get favors out of City Hall that puts money in there pocket. Welcome the new King of Kansas City Sly James
ReplyDeletearmtwisting for cash and bribery are alive and well and living in KC between the city and the big vendors.
ReplyDeleteSly's no better than any of his predecessors. ANd he's black too, Byron!
Kansas City is a pay to play town.
ReplyDeleteAt this rate, he should be able to pay for his own McCallan 12!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe his supporters need to donate McCallan 12, instead of money. :)
ReplyDeleteSly we had such high hopes.
ReplyDeleteI thought Donovan and Sly broke ways during the campaign.
ReplyDeleteDave Fenley gets his ex-wife to kick in 3 G, sure.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the mayor going to speak about the violence?
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can get Sly to hold a fundraiser for TKC? We know one thing he's good at... raising money. I think that sooner than later we are all going to start thinking thank g-d for term limits. Agreed that even Bill "No One's Friend from the Croosroads" Drummond would make a better Mayor than Flunkhouser and we are all happy to not have to wake up every day and live the Municipal Nightmare created by the Gruesome Twosome but Sly hasn't accomplished anything yet other than get a free trip to the All Star Game (as if he is going to have anything to do with the City hosting the Game when it gets here) and raise money. Let's just hope he nurtures his fondness for Scotch and keeps on accomplishing very little. As the saying goes... sometimes no news is good news.
ReplyDeletekissing the ring....
ReplyDeleteSly pays his printer as opposed to a deadbeat named Jim Glover.
ReplyDeleteTony,
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed that you didn't point out the GLARING fact that Sly took SIGNIFICANTLY more in campaign contributions from WHITE donors than those of minority backgrounds. SURELY, you can tie the race card into this story. Wait...didn't you support Sly in large part because he is black?
Oh the angles yet to be played on this one!
Did Pat Gray really donate twice ($3000 from Cambridge Consultants, $2,897 Pat Gray Cambridge Consultants) or are you just effing up?
ReplyDeleteWhite people are the minority now. Blacks don't believe in birth control and every black girl is pregnant by the age of 16 and have 6 Kids by the age of 24! Welfare anyone?
ReplyDeleteTony, what is this about Glover's debt?
ReplyDeleteI found this comment in an earlier thread by S.O.S.
ReplyDelete"The mayor has said that he's NOT going to make public comments about violence and murders in KCMO."
THIS IS NOW HIS PUBLIC COMMENT. PRETTY LAME.
