Like it or not, there is a rising tide against the practices of the P&L District in Kansas City.

KANSAS CITY CONSERVATIVE LEADER MAHLON DAVIS JR. IS CURRENTLY ORGANIZING AGAINST A PROTEST AND SUPPORTS A BOYCOTT OF THE P&L DISTRICT!!!
Mahlon Davis Jr. has rather impressive resume for a young politico . . . He earned the most write-in votes of any candidate in the recent election for the 5th District At-Large. During the debate over the E-Tax, he led discussion throughout Kansas City in opposition to renewal of the levy.
While Mr. Davis isn't opposed to discussing the policies with P&L District, he spoke of upcoming meetings to organize his opposition.
"I'd like to meet with the leaders of the P&L District to hear their side of the story but this is something that's already in motion," Mr Davis said. "There are racial overtones to this current situation but it also speaks to the record of the District overall in dealing with Black people and Latinos."
The efforts of Mr. Davis could be substantial and it's noteworthy that even a young Conservative in Kansas City notes the current problems of the P&L District in contrast to some reactionary media based in JoCo who blindly support the decisions of the District but don't really hold a financial stake in any of the decisions.
It seems as if a variety of concerns and interests against P&L District discriminatory policies from a variety of perspectives are converging in order to express their opposition. Mr. Davis leading local Conservative opposition is exceptionally interesting.

ReplyDeleteheres an idea....stand at the entrace and count the number of whites that have a VIp card to get in free and count the number of minorties that have one. Myself and a black buddy was in the rock bar and this waitress walked up and gave me a card but left my black friend standing their feeling like he wasnt welcome (unless he paid $10). just their way of keeping out the blacks becasue who wants to pay $10 to walk into the court yard? whites wont pay...thats why whites get a free VIP card.

ReplyDeleteI was down there on Friday this weekend and it was a pleasure!! People spending money, you could move around, no fights. It was reminding me of several years ago when the dress code was enforced and you could go and have a good time without fighting you way past 1000 people standing around harassing women and taking up space. Please keep the dress code and the credit card only cover charge!!! Best idea they have had yet!!!!
