  1. Rex is a RICH Asshole. I hear he is behind the company that wants to buy the KC water service. Don't give the water company to him!

  3. Huch Blackwell didn't file on their own - who's the client?

  4. What percentage of eligable (registered) voters participated in the vote.

There has to be a minimum threshold of *voter density* to pass far-reaching tax laws. We have to pass such a law.

Check it: we get 7,144 signatures to change the City Charter to the effect that *no tax measure may be adopted by less than 35% of eligable voters*.

Is that a law *we* could try to get passed, so in teh future we don't get new taxes based on 5% voter turnout.

The lack of voter turnout is an indicator of the lack of investment in educating the public about the upcoming vote.

And placing tax measures on lone ballots.... all the F@CKING tricks they use to pass huge taxc measures with tiny voter turnouts.

    Maybe it is our turn?

  5. Sue Glover the Deadbeat Instead7/25/11, 4:41 PM

Maybe they should sue Councilman Jim Glover who still owes a local printing and graphics company 5 Grand and has not even held a fundraiser to retire his debt.

Jim Glover, the same guy who was just fined 4 Grand by the Missouri Ethics Commission for campaign finance violations.

Jim Glover the same loser who almost lost his house when he decided to stop making mortgage payments.

Jim Glover who had his kids taken away because he was unfit to provide for them.

Sue a local deadbeat before you spend time and money on Rex.

  6. No lie that Glover's campaign finances are a scandal waiting to break. If Deann were still at The Star, she would have busted that story wide open by now.

  7. Story after story about piddly egos, personalities, and petty crap, and meanwhile the really big issues like homicides keep right on going on without any attention at all from city hall.
The voters don't much care; only around 20% even bother to vote for mayor. What will it take to finally get some attention at 12th and Oak?

  8. JW, what percentage of registered voters had the oportunity to vote? 100%?

  9. From J.W. "What percentage of eligable (registered) voters participated in the vote?"

The short answer is it does not matter. The only numbers that matter are those that actually voted. If an issue is important enough to people they will vote. If they don't care or cannot be bothered, then tough cookies.
