Fifty years ago almost everyone went without AC. A hundred years ago they didn't even have fans. Not pleasant but people did it.

ReplyDeleteIn a bold move to address this and other inequities in life, the KC City Council voted unanimously today to denote all minority citizens (and illegal aliens living here) as "Official Victims."
City water crews have been designated to take "Official Victim" signs that can be posted in the appropriate homes.
Gov. Nixon said Missouri will help by allowing a "V" to be affixed on state driver licenses and official state photo IDs of official victims, except for those too poor or too old to get a free official state photo ID, because the state realizes it is a problem for some people to get the free ID.
Republicans had pressed for distribution of the free state photo IDs at liquor stores, where Democrats are known to congregate, but Democrats rejected the move as being racist.

ReplyDeleteMy mom has only turned on her AC twice this year. I don't know how she does it. My grandmother and aunt never had AC.
ReplyDeleteI go out for five minutes and I think I'm going to have a heart attack. I use to be a landscaper. I can't even mow my lawn without having to sit down a couple times in this heat. It's something you really have to get use to. If you spend all day in the AC, it really hits you. If you are use to not having it, it's still hot, but it's not nearly as bad.
