This is probably one of the BEST Things Svoboda has ever posted . . . TAKE A LOOK AT AN ARTSY COMPILATION OF AN ABANDONED AND MOSTLY BOARDED UP SECTION OF KANSAS CITY . . . Close to the casinos, so many used car lots, churches and other small biz not shut down make this section of Kansas City look rather spooky.

A quick drive through KCMO, particularly the east side, will quickly demonstrate the neglect of city government for decades. Blocks with only a couple occupied houses; volunteer trees taller that a two-story building; sofas and other trash everywhere you look.
ReplyDeleteFault of the residents? Certainly at least in part. But no help at all for the folks who still live there.
Meanwhile, city hall is all gaga over the NFL lockout, the baseball All Star Game, and a downtown hotel built at taxpayers' expense.
It's really too bad KCMO doesn't have a city government. There's so much to do.
