More Taxes And Promises For Northeast

Great "new" idea in Northeast . . . Kansas City must might increase taxes and keep promising improvement in City Services and Infrastructure. Genius.

  1. Actually a Community Investment District (CID) doesn't have anything to do with city services. It's an area in which the businesses and residents who are there vote to tax themselves an additional amount and then decide how to use that moeny to improve their community. There's already a CID in the downtown area, which is how the folks who provide some security and help keep the place clean are paid.
It's sad that private individuals have to pay extra for services that they're already paying the city to provide, but when you don't have a city government that's interested in anything but insiders and real estate deals, that's what you're left with.
Should be a real benefit to the northeast, though. Good for Scott Wagner.

  2. They wouldn't need the CID if KC did it's job and focused on basic services. It's kind of like a special fund because the City is so fucked.

  3. How much money will it take for residents of Northeast to bend over and pick up the trash in their neighborhood?
