The NY Times features a nice write-up that reveals local problems managing the Missouri River . . . Not only has the recent flooding highlighted management issues but the NYT reveals that the Mighty MO is no longer used for shipping anything useful . . . So, once again a formerly great local institution has been rendered mostly useless by technology.

The Missouri River hasn't been important to cross-country transportation since that high-falutin' technology called the iron horse (about 150 years ago).
ReplyDeletewell as useless as the river is, so is the city!
ReplyDeleteIt's useless. I say we just ask the Corps of Engineers (that's pronounced "core," Mr. President) to shut it off.
ReplyDeleteSo T, why consider the NYT as an authority on the use of the Missouri River? Who the F&%k annointed them the experts on the topic? You might try asking the folks who handle shipping on the river for their opinions and information on the subject. Maybe the NYT can tell us whether or not to pass the Zoo tax
