FUNNIEST KANSAS CITY LINE OF THE DAY: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS RAISING PRICES TO STAY "COMPETITIVE" AFTER LOCKOUT!!!

Check a line from a story that SHOULD make Chiefs mediocrity even more inexcusable: "The lost revenue (from the recent deal to end the NFL Lockout) means that ticket and concession prices could be going up at Arrowhead. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt says that he wants to put a competitive team on the field so fans will continue to pack the stadium despite the higher costs."

  3. bullshit. clark likely ran numbers and saw that his gross margin projections would not hit target so he freakin' raises prices rather not make AS MUCH money.

what are you shooting for, clark, 50% GM? not happy with 35%? stick it to fans to get you over 30% how about you take 10 - 15% this year and live with it.

you're losin' me, clark, you losin' me...

  4. No team ever raises prices to field a better team. Teams charge what someone is willing to pay. When the stands go empty they start cutting deals. Until then they will raise prices every year.

  8. if we were talking about perennial playoff team, afc championships, etc. then i could see it. but we're talking about the CHIEFS, a middle of the pack team in a small market with limited regional appeal (that will dry up quick).

clark, field a consistently winning team first, then count your money.

  9. thats not what that article says at all. in fact, it says that ticket prices will not be affected.

where did you get this quote about ticket and concession prices rising?
