  1. I found this comment in an earlier thread by S.O.S.

"The mayor has said that he's NOT going to make public comments about violence and murders in KCMO."

THIS IS NOW HIS PUBLIC COMMENT. PRETTY LAME.

  2. You seem to have a real jones about a mayoral comment. What purpose does it serve? But I expect he was misquoted. he'll make comments when he's asked by the media.

Maybe he doesnt want to make news by handwringing over a problem that can't be fixed.

  3. Radioman, not speaking sometimes speaks volumes. Ignoring the elephant in the room, doesn't make it go away. I'm not the only one talking about this, but since my mother didn't name me anonymous ...

  5. Radioman is a nothing wqnna be blogger. Byron, don"t upset over his stupid ass comments . The Mayor is suppose to be the leader of this city . MAYOR james is only concerned about hotels,Plaza,KCFD pension and appointing non active rich white women to the city boards.

  7. Anything the mayor says will bite him on this subject. What purpose doe sit serve but to make bloggers feel better? WIll it change the murder rate?

Will some drunk guy about to off a guy think, "Oh what would mayor sly do?"

Unhappy mayor, landed the Captain's job just as the foredeck slips under the cold Atlantic waves.

  8. DEar Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info. So far in July we have had 13 homicides in KCMO--and we still have the final weekend ahead of us. In the first four months of 2011 we had 27 homicides, in May and June we had 10 each month. Trend lines not looking good. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  10. No need to keep quoting existing stats unless you have a solution to the problem Ernest.

I thought KCPD had a planning and research department that was suppose to come up with a solution concerning crime.

Smedley, do you propose limits to free speech?
