CLAY CHASTAIN WILL TURN IN SIGNATURES AND CHALLENGE KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE RUSS JOHNSON!!!

The latest from Kansas City's most famous transit advocate . . .

PRESS RELEASE

( Clay Chastain July, 25, 2011...)

On Tuesday July 26, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. Chastain will turn in the remaining light rail petition signatures to the Kansas City City Clerk on the 25th floor of City Hall.

Chastain expects to turn in enough valid signatures to exceed the insufficiency.

Chastain will also comment on Councilman Russ Johnson's press release in which he said he would not vote to put the light rail initiative on the November 1, 2011 ballot if it was not legal.

City Attorney Galen Beaufort also told Chastain by phone two weeks ago that he would render a legal opinion stating the petition was not legal and perhaps unconstitutional.

Where is that opinion, and why have we not heard further from Councilman Johnson?

  1. Oh for crying out loud!

Clay, you do not live here !!! Do not submit resolutions for here!

You wanna help make a real difference here, dipwad? Move here and really live here, get a job, live quietly, pay your bills and taxes, stay off the media, do some volunteer work and then come to me about participating in city government and municipal life!

In the meantime STFU and GO AWAY!

Doesn't the City Charter say petitions must be down by registered voters and citizens of the city?

  4. I know people don't like Clay, but personally, I'm in agreement with him. This city needs to find a way to develop a real mass transit system similar to those in other cities like San Francisco, Boston, and DC. I know it would be expensive, but come up with a real plan to start small and build additional connecting lines later. It is time to move this city forward!

  5. First the city needs to find a way to stop the population decrease south of the river. How about starting by doing something about murders and housing. Then you'd have more people to ride the mass transit system. And maybe more investment and jobs.
Who wants to live in a community with two murders every week of the year?

  6. Kansas City is not geographically like those other cities that have light rail. It would be a great waste of tax dollars. Get a clue. Clay, go home and leave us alone.
