Jordan Carver, Differing Tastes And A Message From The TKC Mailbag (nullus).

I don't think there is anything better than Jordan Carver and Ice Cream . . . If you disagree, I really don't have time for you.

Nevertheless . . . This blog is about alternative perspectives and I thought I would include this bit of TKC response from a very recent e-mail message:

First, I'd like to say that I enjoyed the discussion on the Central Standard this morning. I hope that you and the other guests are invited back several more times to continue the conversation on racism and prejudice, particularly in Kansas City. Listening to you on the show today prompted me to check out your blog. I suspect that you'll get a nice publicity boost from being on the show this morning.

Unfortunately, I'm writing not just to give you props for this morning's discussion, but to comment on some of the photos depicting women on your blog. This was my first visit to your blog and I was disappointed by the several unnecessary photos of big breasted women in skimpy outfits that have nothing to do with local news, crime, racism, or prejudice in Kansas City (just even in the last 2 days of posting!). For example, the post about the search for a new police chief--why put this with a picture of a young woman posing in the skimpy cop costume? That is completely irrelevant and I find it to be offensive. Also, the two following posts with "early morning links", picking the one link with Coco Austin to use as the main photo or the post mostly with links to Joplin, putting Petra Nemcova in there? I get it that these pictures might get you more hits on your blog. But, as a woman and as a person that believes in equality for everyone, I'm tired of being sold or used as a sexual object. Blatant uses of women's bodies just to get more readers is, over time, difficult to not internalize and believe that this is what is most important about me as a woman.

I ask that you reconsider the photos you use on your website. I think what you're doing in general is great! We need more people like you undercover, off the radar so to speak, to link to underreported stories. Perhaps I should write to Mr. Leffall and ask him to also do a show on prejudice and include local women activists!

Anyway, thanks for reading my thoughts.

Sincerely

Of course . . . Hottie photos are part of the fun of TKC . . . However, I'm looking for the TKC TEXT ONLY link in order to put it back on the frontage for far more sensitive souls.

  5. In KC it seems to be more and more F2F or "F"on"F (aka females seeking females) just mentioning the obvious, so leave the hot pics on TKC for us guys (well and the majority of the gals) so in reality what in the hell was that ladies point anyway ?? LOL

  6. "I'm tired of being sold or used as a sexual object." Sounds like she has a personal problem. She states this in a personal manner rather than putting it in the context of all women. Have you put her picture on the blog or are you not paying her enough?

  7. It was probably Mary O'Halloran. If you saw her on Ruckus tonight you can see that her grasp on sanity is growing even more tenuous.

  8. TJC is UNIQUE! The LADIES are a part of what makes this blog FUN and INTERESTING. In a great many cases the photos add to the point Tony is making. Don't change a thing!!!!

  11. Surprise! Was I being too verbose in my previous comment or did I just get censored?

    Censorship thy name is poison!

  12. i've read a few times some people refer to the photos t posts as "soft porn" and "naked". they are neither.

if you women out there object to the photos posted here, don't come here. and don't pick on t about it... take your fight to the (many, many) folks who create and distribute the photos. this includes the models, etc., who pose for the pictures and are raking in the dough because of it. don't want to be "objectified"? tell it to your sisters, ma'am.
