So, there were rumblings that Mr. Peanut was giving Sly James a close look. I don't blame him, Sly is impressive and he'd make a great Mayor.

Yes, Mr. Peanut used to call Burke "Mr. TIF" but now it seems as if they have buried the hatchet or at the very least their relationship is now a bit less salty.
This important local reconciliation brings along one of Kansas City's biggest Unions, Mike Sanders and so many other acolytes.

Mr. Nutter's endorsement should make us all run and vote for Sly James. Member Nutter is responsible for the last 4 years of Funk & Gloria.

ReplyDelete5:38, TKC didn't report Sky got Nutter, just that Nutter doesn't like Burke (but then again, who does?). 4:57 has it right...Nutter gave us Funk, Gloria and got Aggie Fathaus on the park board. Nutter has done enough damage.

Look at how much Crawford was touting his endorsements while Glover was out shaking hands and not caring as much... and where that got him. It's just money anyways, and if Nutter doesn't give it to Burke, then Burke will just give himself more money anyways.

ReplyDeleteNutter is doing the dirty work for Cleaver. Cleaver wants to get revenge and we all know how vindictive he is, and Nutter is doing what he thinks is best to help James lose. He went with Deb when he saw James climbing in the polls to try to knock him out but Deb's nasty past and her exaggerated claims came back to haunt her and it backfired. Now he has no choice but to back Burke, a guy he has always hated because he is one of the city's premier TIF Kings.

Burke is so insider and old school he doesn't even realize that people look at him surrounded by all the old players and know we are headed backwards.
I predict all Funkhousers votes go to James and James wins. James will get votes in the Northland and Burke did not do well South and won't.

This is just another example of how pitiful politics are in KCMO. When a little band of the same old folks and one wealthy old guy can decide how an election in a town of 475,000 people turns our and only 15% of the actual voters participate, the place deserves exactly what it gets.

ReplyDeleteLet's not forget James has more money here. The tone of his supporters is not representative of the message he portrays. How do you strongly lead in office if during the campaign you play the victim to outside interests.
James is not who he pretends to be: he will not even acknowledge that Diana Kander and Donovan Mouton are behind his campaign. He knows that people who know these two He lies.
